Councilwoman La Berge reported that she and Councilwoman Gasparini <br /> were appointed by the Mayor to serve on a committee to put together <br /> a special presentation as they go forward to win the "All America City" <br /> award to be presented in Tampa, Florida in May. <br /> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ <br /> A2. Councilwoman Gasparini discussed the three "All America City" projects <br /> in Redwood City, specifically the partnership with Kainos, the Sequoia <br /> Institute mentorship program and Project Read. This is an award for the <br /> entire City. The City is working with the Chamber of Commerce and Redwood <br /> Shores Properties to find community funds to send citizens and a delegation <br /> to Florida since this is a community based project rather than a City <br /> funded project. Councilwoman Gasparini invited everyone to the May 11th <br /> council meeting for the live presentation that the City will be bringing <br /> to Florida. <br /> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ <br /> A3. Councilwoman Steinfeld described a letter received from the Community <br /> Association for the Retarded, as well as a request from Kainos for jobs <br /> for their workshops.
