STAFF REPORTS <br /> REPORT: GENERAL SERVICES DIRECTOR, APRIL 6, 1993 -, <br /> General Services Director Ingram presented the staff report and advised of <br /> staff recommendation to suspend the water emergency and curtail rationing <br /> and penalties program. Director Ingram thanked staff and the council <br /> committee that over sees water and sewer policy, Councilmembers Greenalch, <br /> Sanfilipo and Steinfeld. <br /> Councilman Greenalch stated that the water banks will still be in place. <br /> The second step will be a recommendation for a 15% voluntary water <br /> conservation plan and the third step will be a report prior to the budget <br /> for next year. <br /> Councilwoman La Berge emphasized the importance of encouraging people <br /> to conserve water and participate in the 15% voluntary water conservation <br /> pl an. <br /> Councilman Greenalch responded that a part of the management plan will <br /> include ongoing funding for community education and conservation and a rate <br /> structure yet to be determined but conceptually it will be a rate structure <br /> that will have a lifeline and reward conservation. <br /> Mayor Buchan thanked Management Analyst, William Adams for his efforts <br /> working with schools. <br /> M/S: Claire/LaBerge to accept report. <br /> Carried by unanimous voice vote. <br /> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> 9.
