ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
A. Nita Spangler, Edgewood Road, Redwood City, acknowledged the concerns the
Council and audience speakers experience with allotting time for oral
communications and gave the Council an egg timer to help them monitor the
time elapsed.
B. Bette Caceres, Roosevelt Street, Redwood City, advised Council that TCI
Cablevision Inc. intends to install an above ground pedestal box for
microoptic cabling on an easement next to her house and did not notify her
adequately of their intention. Ms. Caceres advised that the goal of
improving the aesthetics of the neighborhood by undergrounding utilities a
few years ago was being compromised by the proposed addition of this
pedestal box. A light standard and hydrant were already installed in front
of her house and she objected to any further impediments to the aesthetic
quality of the neighborhood.
Mayor Buchan referred this item to staff and City Manager Everett stated he
and other staff members would contact Ms. Caceres.
MEMO 4/27/93
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MINUTE BOOK NO. 51
Page No. 380
