EXHIBIT E <br /> Scope of Work <br /> to be Provided by the Redwood City 20/20 <br /> July 1 , 2016 to June 30, 2017 <br /> GOALS: <br /> 1 . Increase students' and families' knowledge about pedestrian and bicycle safety to <br /> encourage physical activity and safe walking/cycling practices. <br /> Activities <br /> a) Invite schools to host educational programs during the school day and in after school <br /> programs <br /> b) Contract with vendors to provide relevant programming <br /> c) Provide educational programs (including bicycle rodeos and school-based workshops <br /> about safe walking/cycling) for students and families <br /> d) Offer safety education workshops for parents/adult family with encouragement and <br /> recognition of their participation . <br /> e) Continue the Spokes program, a local collaborative effort that teaches students bicycle <br /> safety and basic bicycle maintenance and repair. It is an in-depth multi-week after <br /> school program during which students get individual attention in small groups, bike <br /> helmets, bike locks, repair kits, and (for students who do not already have one) new <br /> bikes . <br /> 1) Pilot the "Grind" program that helps youth build their own skateboards and learn <br /> proper safety skills <br /> 2. Build volunteer capacity and increase the number of volunteers supporting SRTS <br /> Activities <br /> a) Outreach to students' families to build and continue partnerships and encourage <br /> participation in SRTS programming <br /> b) Facilitate volunteer trainings for parents/family members for new walking school buses <br /> and other SRTS activities <br /> c) Define what assistance schools need on site and recruit/train volunteers to meet these <br /> needs <br /> d) Provide materials and supplies for SRTS programming (e.g . stop signs, reflective <br /> vests, and name badges) and provide incentives to volunteers and students to <br /> encourage ongoing participation <br /> e) Maintain an open and consistent line of communication with volunteers, families, <br /> students, school staff, and community partners. <br /> f) Conduct student volunteer trainings for student valet program to increase long term <br /> sustainability of program activities <br /> 3.
