ATTACHMENT 1 <br />ATTY/RESO.0066/SEAPORT BLVD LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE DISTRICT <br />REV: 07-12-16 FF <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />RESOLUTION NO. ______ <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br />REQUESTING AND AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY CONTROLLER TO <br />LEVY THE BENEFIT ASSESSMENTS FOR FY 2016-2017 FOR THE <br />SEAPORT BOULEVARD LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE DISTRICT AND <br />AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY TAX COLLECTOR TO COLLECT SUCH <br />ASSESSMENTS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on August 24, 2015, voters of the Seaport Boulevard Landscape <br />Maintenance District ( “District”) approved, by a vote of 100% yes to 0% no, the levy of <br />a special tax, as specified in the City Manager’s and City Engineer’s Reports, approved <br />by Resolution No. 15415, adopted on June 08, 2015, on each non-exempt parcel of <br />land in the District; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the maximum annual benefit assessment is $212,500; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the District has the need of the services of the offices of the San <br />Mateo County Controller and Tax Collector in levying and collecting the special tax. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF REDWOOD CITY, CALIFORNIA AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. The above recitals are all true and correct. <br />2. The amount of the assessment to be levied against the District for fiscal <br />year 2016-2017 is hereby set at $212,500. <br /> <br />3. The City Council of the City of Redwood City hereby respectfully requests <br />and authorizes the San Mateo County Tax Controller to include individual tax <br />assessments in the County tax bills in accordance with the documents supplied by <br />the District and authorizes the San Mateo County Tax Collector to collect the taxes at <br />the same time and in the same manner as the general County taxes are collected. <br /> <br />4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution <br />and enter it into the book of original resolutions. <br /> <br />5.
