through the Pacific Shores complex, then turns left onto Seaport Boulevard and finishes
as the same place it started.

Both events are expected to be completed by 9:30 a.m.

Should alterations be required, any change to the race routes will be determined under
the supervision and approval of the Police Chief or his designee. A map is attached for
reference.

The owners of the Pacific Shores complex support the event and have consented to the
use of their property for the stated purpose.

The cadets have completed an extensive notification process to the affected businesses
along the route and no objections have been received by staff.

ALTERNATIVES
The City Council could choose not to adopt a Resolution authorizing the street closure.
The selection of this alternative would prohibit the Run with the Cops event from taking
place in Redwood City.
FISCAL IMPACT
The Redwood City Police Department cadets will volunteer their services to conduct
traffic control on the day of the event. The cadets will also provide personnel to conduct
the necessary postings of the affected roadways under the supervision of the police
department. There are no other City services required.

Environmental Impact
The proposed action is not a “project” for purposes of CEQA, as that term is defined in
CEQA Guidelines Section 15378 and does not require environmental review.

John Gunderson
Administrative Lieutenant

JR Gamez
Chief of Police

_________________________
Melissa Stevenson Diaz
City Manager
6.3.D. - Page 2
