274 Councilman Granger inquired as to the status of the Kentfield District. City Engineer Jain stated this this was being handled by an outside firm and it had been turned back to them to make corrections. Council— man Granger moved that these people be asked to carry out the corrections asked by the City Engineer, seconded by Councilman Britschgi,and carried. Councilman Britschgi reported that the Police Station plans are just about ready. There is just one item to be taken care of. The City Attorney was asked to prepare for the sale of bonds. Councilman Britschgi moved that the City Attorney draw up the call for bids for the sale of bonds for the police Station, seconded by Councilman Granger and carried. Eouncilman Weiss reported that Assemblyman Dolwing will be in the City to discuss the State Highway problem. The Clerk was asked to check on the date and notify the Council. Councilman Weiss moved that the City Attorney draw up the necessary resoution congratulating Mr. Currie and Ns. Lebsack for their work as City Attorney for the past years service, seconded by Councilman Granger and carried. Claims numbering from 20183 through 20229, totaling $185,71198 were ordered paid on motion of Councilman Herkner, seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried. ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present: Councilmen Floyd D. Granger, Sidney D. Herkner, Hiram S. Stout, Louis Weiss, Mayor William H. Royer and City Clerk R. S. Dodge. Councilmen Carl A. Britschgi and Robert V. Spillers were noted absent. Also present were City Attorney Robert Costello, Fire Chief J. L. Lodi, Police Chief William Faulstich, Building Inspector S. H. Kreiss, Assistant to City Manager L. A. Kimball, Assessor—Auditor John J. Brophy and Account—Clerk Vivian Holmquist. PUBLIC HEARING, CONTINUTATION OF HEARING, RESUBDIVISION BERGANTON PROPERTY. Attorney Woodman. Continued from September 4th. Councilman Granger reported for the Real Estate Committee. The Committee is now sure what recommendation they would like to make. They don't know whether they should take the Planning Commission recommendation or not. The overall line is an average of 8' which is being asked by the Planning Commission. The Committee suggest that the peo;)le tell the Council what they want for the property and if this is what the Council wants then they can negotiate. If they can't agree to somethin and the Cit wants the '� g� y property, then they may have to take the matter into the courts. Attorney Woodman stated that he had checked with reliable real estate brokers and was told th--t property of similar size have been selling for $.9,500. The value of the property would drop $1,000 if the 10' were taken away. They offered to sell the 10' strip to the Gity for the $13000. This was followed .•� by discussion. City Attorney Costello recommended that the Council approve or disapprove the suggestion of the ?lanning Commission. If the Council has some changes, they could recomnend back to the Planning Commission. This was followed by further discussion, part of which was on the subject of previous Council action in regard to obtaining property for street purposes.
