It was also stated that
young people loiter about the area and have been damaging private property bordering
said park* This is one of thepieces of land which we have not developed because
of the uneconomical maintenance and supervision required. Also$ about 1 a block
2
away on Anamors there is another of these central areas which is well kept up and
used.
With the concurrence of the Park Superintendent, our group voted to abandon this
area as a park and to block off the entrances, if this action meets with the
approval of you council and the city attorney, fire and police departments. 17e
realize that there are legal complications if this area was dedicated as a park
on the recorded maps and so accepted by the City., and if there are various types of
easements and rights of way involved.
Subject to the clearance of the various legal and other problems, we recommend the
abandonment and blocking off of this area.
Sincerely yourss
Corry Verssen, Chairman., Park & Recreation Commission
Councilman Granger moved to refer this to the City Attorney for checking and legality2 seconded by
Councilman .1eisse City Engineer Jain asked if he could also check into this matter.
