Establish parallel parking on both sides of Marshall Street from Hamilton Street to Jefferson Avenue. <br />Councilman Spillers moved approval of the Traffic Committees' recommendation. City Attorney Costello <br />stated that be had a resolution. Councilman Spillers changed his motion and offered RESOLUTION 2116 <br />ESTABLISHING PROHIBITED PARKING AREAS ON CERTAIN DESIGNATED STREET., AND DIRECTING CITY MANAGER TO APPROPRI- <br />ATELY MARK SAID AREAS (this includes recommendations is 3., 4 & 5 listed above., number 2 being deleted <br />because the Traffic Committee later decided.to put in three parking meters) and moved its adoptions <br />seconded by Councilman Stout.. This was followed by discussion. The motion carried on roll call with <br />Councilman Britschgi being noted absent. . <br />Councilman Spillers offered intoduction of ordinance establishing parallel parking on recommendations <br />6s 7s 8 and 9 listed above$ seconded by Councilman Weiss and carried. <br />TRAFFIC COMMITTEE RECOMMENDS STOP SIGNS TO BE INSTALLED AT THE INTERSECTIONS OF ALAMEDA DE LAS PUMAS AND <br />ROOSEVELT AVENUE AND AT MC GARVEY AVENUE AND ROOSEVELT AVENUE. Councilman Spillers offered RESOLUTION <br />2117 ESTABLISHING STOP INTERSECTIONS AT CERTAIN DESIGNATED LOCATIONS and moved its adoptions seconded by <br />Councilman Herkner and carried on roll. calls Councilman Britsfti being noted absent. <br />TRAFFIC COWUTTEE RECOMI MED LOADING ZONE BE ESTABLISHED FOR A DISTANCE OF TWENTY-TWO FEST ON THE EAST SIDE OF <br />BROADWAY IN FRONT OF 1772 BROADWAY. Councilman Spillers moved approval of the Traffic Committees' <br />recommendations seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried. <br />City Attorney Costello recommended that the annexation proceedings go forward on the annexation of the Zion <br />Reservoir site alone. He asked for authorization to proceed. Councilman Spillers moved that the City <br />Attorney be given authorization to proceed with the annexation as outlined., seconded by Councilman Stout. <br />This was followed by discussion. Mr. Costello stated that the City has an agreement for an easement of <br />201,to get to the reservoir. Mr. Jain stated that he did not contact the Zion people and because of all <br />the problems involved he was recommending this procedure. The motion carried. <br />Councilman Herkner raised the question of when they would call for bids. The City Attorney stated that <br />he believed the Council should wait for the annexation before calling for the bids. <br />Councilman Britschgi entered the meeting at 9:145 P. M. <br />The Mayor announced that the Council was invited to attend the meeting and ceremonies at Eagles Hall on <br />October 3rd at 8:00 P. M. and he also called attention to the meeting scheduled on October 4th with the <br />representatives of the Emerald Lake people. <br />COUNCILMAN BRITSCHGI REPORT REGARDING MEETING ON HIGHWAY STUDIES. This meeting lasted two diays and they Were <br />handled similar to the Council's public hearings. These meetings were for highway studies only. They <br />discussed the problem of rerouting Spruce Street. He further stated that to make it official the <br />Council should instruct the City Attorney to contact the State in regard to the possibilities of rerouting <br />Spruce Street from El Camino Rpal to Bayshore Highway. Willow Road was also up for discussion and a re- <br />solution should be drawn up for this also. Councilman Britschgi moved that the City Attorney be authorized <br />to draw up the necessary resolution to have Spruce Street connect from 5 Points to Bayshore Freeways second- <br />ed by Councilman Spillers. Mr. Thomas.Tuites Jr.s ased that they include in the motion the words " or <br />an alternate route". This was included in the motion after which Mr. Tuite explained why he wanted these <br />
