i 0 FAW t title to this property is clouded by reason of the action or inaction of the Council or other officials of Redwood City, then, of course, we would be obligated, in the pro- tection of our own clients, the Geo. L. Leonard Construction Co. and Leonard Realty Co., to have the Court determine who is liable for such a condition existing. It is, however, the desire of both Mr. Wattenberg and Mr. Stiller, on the one hand, and myself, representing the owners and sellers, on the other hand, to resolve this matter amicably. This can only be done if the City of Redwood City, through its officials, will act promptly with reference to their future plans regarding the widening of Whipple Street and how it will affect the property here involved. We therefore request that appropriate action be taken at once to either abandon the plans as outlined in Resolution No. 698, or that you promptly proceed with the con- clusion of the necessary steps to carry such plan into operation in so far as it affects this property. I think everyone will agree that the time which has elapsed since the adoption of this plan on the 18th day of April 1949 is an unreasonable length of time for such plan to remain either unexecuted or not abandoned.
