Councilman Britschgi asked the City Manager to report on the windows in the Council Chambers. The City Manager will report on this in two weeks. Councilman Britschgi brought up the question of the death hazard at Fifth Avenue and Bayshore Highway. He spoke at some length on the possibility of installing -signals at this intersection. Councilmap Britschgi M1 moved to contact the State and the County Board of Supervisors to install the traffic lights and to have VOW storage lanes at Fifth Avenue and Bayshore Highway intersection, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. Councilman Granger stated that the Highlands of Emerald Lake #4 was quoted as $4,412. He stated that the paper quoted $6,639.00. -Councilman Granger moved that the matter be referred to the City Engineer, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried. City Attorney Currie stated that the Council should meet next Monday night for five minutes to award bids on the Recreation building. Councilman Granger moved that the City Clerk be aughorized to call the meeting for this one subject only, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. The Clerk asked about the matter of the 49er lease. City Attorney Currie stated that this could be continued to the Monday night meeting and handled along with the awarding of the bid for the Recreation building. Claims No. 18897 to No. 19010, totaling $77,631.01, were ordered paid on motion of Councilman Britschgi, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. City Engineer Jain reported that they were ready to advertise for bids on Parking Lot No. 4e CounQilman Granger offered Resolution 2009 authorizing City Manager to call for bids on Parking Lot No. 4, seconded by Councilman Jones and carried on roll call. He also suggested that it would be necessary to appropriate the above amount from the Unallocated Capital Project Fund which will require a resolution by the City Council before the contract is awarded.
