Councilman Granger also referred <br /> to a letter dated November 18, 1948, from the League of California Cities. <br /> Counci1ir n Granger also referred to the purchase of the Redwood Village water system and he read excerpts <br /> taken from council minutes from 1945 through 1946 in regard to water conditions in the subdivisions. In <br /> March, 1946, the Council established a policy to be followed in such matters. Councilman Weiss raised some <br /> more questions and stated that Councilman' Granger's report was irrelevant and had no bearing on this <br /> subject whatsoever. He referred to the agreement with the Land Development Company and stated that the <br /> resolution did not agree with the agreement. He also referred to Ordinance 494. This was followed by <br /> discussion. <br /> LETTER HOUSING AND HOME FINANCING AGENCY APPROVING APPLICATION FOR ADVANCE FUNDS TO PREPARE FINAL PLANS FOR <br /> CONSTRUCTION OF ADDITIONAL SEWAGE FACILITIES. The Clerk read the letter. Council action was not necessary. <br /> FURTHER CONSIDERATION PROPOSED DUMBARTON FAIR OAKS FIRE DISTRICT. The City Attorney read the title of the <br /> proposed, ordinance. . He reported that this ordinance was for a period of approximately 13 months. The <br /> rates involved are computed on the $.715 of the $100 assessed valuation for one year, or the rate as <br /> stated in the agreement if $.775 on the $100 assessed valuation for thirteen months. Councilman Weiss <br /> offered the introduction of an emergency ordinance authorizing agreement between Dumbarton Fire Protection <br /> District and City of Redwood City for furnishing fire protection by the Citywithin said fire protection <br /> district, seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried. <br /> PETITION FOR ANNEXATION EICHORN PROPERTY, 3.601 ACRES ADJOINING ATHERWOOD, SET HEARING. The City Attorney <br /> recommended adoption of the resolution. The Clerk read the title of the resolution. Councilman Spillers <br /> offered RESOLUTION 2229 GIVING NOTICE OF THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF THE CERTAIN UNINCORPORATED TERRITORY <br /> TO SAID CITY; DESCRIBING SAID TERRITORY AND DF'SIGNATING IT BY THE NAME "EICHORN ANNEXATION"; MAKING CERTAIN <br /> [:: FINDINGS RESPECTING SAID PROPOSAL; AND GIVING NOTICE OF TIME AND PLACE SAID COUNCIL WILL HEAR PROTESTS <br /> THERETO and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Weymouth (hearing to be June 24th) and carried on <br /> roll call, Councilmen Herkner and Stout being noted absent. Councilman Weiss moved that this be referred <br /> to the Planning Commission to determine the number of lots in the area, seconded by Councilman Granger and <br /> carried. <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING VARIANCE TO ALLOW NON-CONFORMING SIDE YARD AND 72 FEET BETWEEN GARAGE AND HOUSE (137 <br /> Stratford Street). The Clerk read the title of the resolution. Councilman Spillers offered RESOLUTION <br /> 2230 GRANTING VARIANCE FROM CERTAIN PROVISIONS OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY and moved <br /> its adoption, seconded by Councilman Granger and carried on roll call, Councilmen Herkner and Stout being <br /> noted absent. <br /> LETTER FROM ASSEMBLYMAN BRITSCHGI REGARDING AB 1692, PROPOSED FOUR YEAR COLLEGE. The Mayor asked the Clerk to <br /> file the letter. <br /> CITY ASSESSOR REQUEST AUTHORIZATION TO CHARGE OFF OLD ASSESSMENT LIENS. The City Assessor asked to write off <br /> the following assessment liens: <br /> Resolution J-5 $137.00 <br /> Resolution M-5 511.00 <br /> Resolution 11,15 93.25 <br /> $741.25 <br /> Councilman Weymouth moved approval of the request, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br /> LETTER OF APPRECIATION FROM EDW. LEMOS, MASTER OF SEAPORT LODGE F. & A. M. The Clerk read the letter which <br /> was ordered filed. <br /> CLAIM FOR ALLEGED INJURIES, IMOGENE G. PRINCE. Councilman Spillers moved to deny the claim and referred ti to <br /> the insurance carrier, seconded by Councilman Weiss and carried. <br /> TRAFFIC COMMITTEE RECOMMENDED LIMITED SPEED IN THE VICINITY OF THE YACHT HARBOR. Councilman Spillers moved to <br /> refer this to the City Attorney, seconded by Councilman Weiss and carried. <br />
