<br /> Minutes of the Regular Meeting
<br /> Redwood.City Council
<br /> May 20, 1957, 8:00 P.M.
<br /> Invocation was led by Reverend York, Woodside Road Community Methodist Church.
<br /> ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present: Councilmen Sidney D. Herkner, Robert V. Spillers, Hiram S.
<br /> [:: Stout, Louis Weiss, Ray Weymouth and Mayor William H. Royer. Noted absent were Councilman Floyd D.
<br /> Granger who was attending a meeting for the Mayor, and City Clerk R. S. Dodge. Also present were City
<br /> Manager E. A. Rolison, City Attorney Robert J. Costello, City Engineer Glenn M. Jain,, Clerk pro-tem
<br /> John J. Brophy, Police Chief William Faulstich, Water Superintendent H. L. Winter, Assistant Fire Chief
<br /> Willis Leslie, Engineering Associate Arthur Eskelin, Assistant to the City Manager L. A. Kimball,
<br /> Imo Building Inspector S. H. Kreiss, City Collector Paul Perrin and Senior Stenographer Clerk Vivian Holmquist.
<br /> The minutes of May 6th and May 13th were ordered approved as mailed on motion of Councilman Spillers, seconded
<br /> by Councilman Stout and carried.
<br /> PUBLIC HEARING, ANNEXATION WILLIAMS TERRITORY #2. The affidavit of publication was ordered filed. There
<br /> being no protests, written or oral, Councilman Spillers moved that the public hearing be closed,
<br /> seconded by Councilman Weymouth. Councilman Weissasked if they had determined the number of lots. The
<br /> answer was four lots, the annexation fee was paid and the forms for taxation w ere signed and filed.
<br /> The motion carried.
<br /> Councilman Stout offered RESOLUTION 2238 FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT PROTEST TO THE PROPOSED
<br /> ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED "WILLIAMS TERRITORY
<br /> NO. 2" HAS NOT BEEN MADE BY OWNERS OF ONE-HALF OF THE VALUE OF SUCH TERRITORY -AS SHOWN BY THE LAST
<br /> EQUALIZED ASSESSMENT ROLL, NOR BY PUBLIC AND PRIVATE OWNERS EQUAL TO ONE-HALF OF THE VALUE OF SUCH
<br /> TERRITORY AS DETERMINED BY SAID COUNCIL and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Spillers and
<br /> how
<br /> carried on roll call, Councilman Granger being noted absent.
<br /> Councilman Herkner offered introduction of an ordinance approving the annexation to the City of Redwood
<br /> City of certain uninhabited territory designated "Williams Territory No. 2" and herein described, and
<br /> herein annexing said territory to said City of Redwood City, seconded by Councilman Spillers and
<br /> carried.
<br /> PBULIC HEARING MASTER LAND USE PLAN, .continued from May 6th. The Mayor announced that the Council still had
<br /> one more study meeting to hold on this matter and said it would have to be carried on the agenda for at
<br /> least one more week. Councilman Stout moved that the public hearing be continuted for two weeks, June
<br /> 3rd, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried.
<br /> PUBLIC HEARING, 12 AMENDMENTS TO ZINING ORDINANCE NO. 600, continued from May 6th. Councilman Stout moved
<br /> to continue the public hearing for two weeks, June 3rd, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried.
<br /> r-7 SIDEWALK COMMITTEE REPORT, PROTESTS AND REQUESTS FOR ECTENSIONS. The committee made the following recommed-
