474
roll call with Councilman Granger being noted absent.
Councilman Spillers offered RESOLUTION 2240 WAIVING PROVISIONS OF SPECIAL ASSESSMENT, INVESTIGATION, LIMITATION
AND MAJORITY PROTEST ACT OF 1931, AS AMENDED (Farm Hill Boulevard) and moved its adoption, seconded by
Councilman Stout and carried on roll call, Councilman Granger being noted absent.
The Mayor acknowledged receipt of a petition with 298 signatures protesting and opposing any change in zoning
regulations that will permit apartments to be built in Farm Hills.
CITY OF SAN CARLOS REGARDING PORTIONS OF LOTS 1, 2, 3 AND 4, UNRECORDED MAP OF EATON AVENUE VILLAS. The City
of San Carlos stated that it would not be possible for them to permit connections to the sewers on the
basis that Redwood City recommended, namely 60¢ per residential unit. They feel that the most satisfact-
ory arrangement would be for the City of San Carlos to annex this property, and that would eliminate all
existing problems. If the property is not annexed to San Carlos, and still desires to connect to their
sewer system it would require a fee of $500 per connection.
Councilman Stout was of the opinion that the people in the area should be appraised of the situation.
This was followed by discussion. Mr. Toffanelli asked if this matter could be held up until later in the
evening. Mr. Charles Rafdlett was to appear to talk on the matter but he had to attend a meeting in Wood-
side first.
FURTHER CONSIDERATION PROPOSED ANNEXATION, FARM HILLS ADDITION NO. 1. The City Attorney asked that this be held
up another week and he further stated that this should have been considered under public hearings. Coun-
cilman Stout moved to continue the public hearing for one week, May 27th, seconded by Councilman Weymouth
and carried.
CITY COLLECTOR REQUEST AUTHORIZATION TO CANCEL WEED AND REAL PROPERTY TAXES. The Clerk read the letter wherein
it was stated that most of these assessments were charged against properties in the name of the City of
Redwood City, San Mateo County, and State of California.
