<br />PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER APPEAL FROM PLANNING COMMISSION'S DENIAL OF LOT SIZE AND LOT FRONTAGE REQUIREMENTS OF
<br />THE SIBDIVISION ORDINANCE WITH, RESPECT TO PORTIONS OF LOTS C AND t, MAP NO. 2 OF WOOSTER, WHITTON & MONT-
<br />GOMERY SUBDIVISION (P.C. case #58-37 -,Peter Giovannoni, 137 Roosevelt Avenue). There were not written
<br />or oral protests, however, there -was considerable discussion by the Council members. Councilman Spillers
<br />moved to continue the public hearing.to July 7, seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried.
<br />PUBLIC HEARING ON THE APPEAL OF JAMES L. DOUCETTE from the decision of the Planning Commission denying a petit-
<br />ion for variance from the strict application of the terms of Section 7.1(g) of Ordinance No. 600, to allow
<br />construction of a dwelling on Lot 11 and a portion of Lot 1¢, Block 1, Friendly Acres No. 1, having a rear
<br />yard five feet in depth instead of the required twenty feet (3255 Hoover Street). The notice of mailing
<br />was ordered filed. Mr. Goth, attorney representing J. L. Doucette, addressed the Council. Councilman
<br />Spillers moved that the public hearing be closed, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried.
<br />Councilman Spillers moved to grant the permit as long as the property owner lives up to the Building Code
<br />and referred the matter to the City Attorney to draw up the necessary resolution, seconded by Councilman
<br />Rosselli and carried.
<br />The Mayor recognized students from Goodwin School. Mrs. Kendall was the teacher.
<br />PETITION REQUESTING IMPROVEMENTS ON REGENT STREET BETWEEN REDWOOD AVENUE AND WOODSIDE ROAD, AND ITS CONTINUANCE
<br />TO CONNECT WITH OXFORD STREET. Councilman Rosselli moved to authorize the City Engineer to prepare plans
<br />and specifications for proposed assessment district and that funds for plans and specs and r/w, deed ac-
<br />quisition be advanced from the General Fund to be reimbursed from assessment district, seconded by Council-
<br />man Spillers and carried.
