Written approval of the bonding company has been received. Councilman Royer moved to grant the extension as requested to June 30, 1961s (MINUTE ORDER #60-LIU6)p seconded by Councilman Fields and carried. °Item 12 was eliminated from the agenda '(resolution approveing agreement between PG&E and City of Redwood City to permit dumping of spoils on PG&E easement in connection with the construction of the Redwood City Marina and authorizing execution thereof). Gamcilman Fields moved to authorize the City Clerk to accept a grant deed from Robert E. and Lucy Jane Owens, easement in Industrial Way (MINUTE ORDER #60-207)s seconded by'Councilman Stehle and carried. Councilman Royer moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 3226 AUTHORIZING AGREEMENT FOR ACQUISITION OF PERMIT FECM PACIFIC GAS AND ELECTRIC COMPANY FOR SPOILS DISPOSAL AREA; ANDS REPEALING RESOLUTION N0. 3146, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried unanimously on roll call, Councilman Granger being noted absent. CCMMUNICATIONSI D. W. Tovwnsend submitted his letter of resignation from the Personnel Board. He recently moved to Millbrae. Councilman Royer moved that a letter of acceptance of his resignation and an expression of thanks for his service to the City be sent (MINUTE ORDER #60-208), seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried. County of San Mateo notified the Council of a meeting called for October 17, 1960, at 10:00 a. m.s in the Chambers of the Board of Supervisorss at the Hall of Justice and Records, Redwood City, Calif- ornia, for the purpose of appointing a member ,of the Board -of Directors' of the Bay Area Rapid Transit District for a full term of four years 'commencing October 28, 1960, at which time the term of office of the incumbent of Burlingame, California, will expire. The appointee of the Commdttee is required by law to be a resident and registered voter of the County of San Mateo. A majority of the members of the City Selection Committee shall constitute a quorum. Bulletin from the Association of Bay Area governments. Councilman Royer moved that the Council re- consider this matter when they have a full councils seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried. Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Johansons 272 Nevada Street, Redwood City$ as residents and property owners of Redwood City$ and also owners of a Lot (without water) in the Emerald Lake Areas wished to go on record as strenuously protesting the expenditures of any monies by the City of Redwood City for the improve- ment of existing Emerald Lake water facilitiess unless water is simultaneously made available to the owners of unimproved as well as improved property in that area. Councilman Herkner asked that the City Manager contact these people to see what they mean and try to explain the matter to them. Mayor Weymouth reported an a meeting with other City Mayors with regard to a County wide sales tax. He re - ported that it was the consensus of the other Cities that a letter be submited to the County Board of Supervisors asking them to envoke the Bradley -Burns Act, the Cities to contribute 5% to the County. Mayor Weymouth asked permission to sign such a request. Councilman Rosselli was of the opinion that because of the present ordinance on the books and the negative vote c' the people that the City of Redwood City should not sign such a letter. Councilman Royer moved that this be continued to next Monday night, October 17th, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried.
