WAME rayll Councilman Herkner moved adoption of RESOLUTION 140. 3228 APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR WATERPROOF- ING TWO 4 -MILLION GALLON REINFORCED CONCRETE WATER TANKS AT SEQUOIA RESERVOIRS; ANDS AUTHORIZING CALL FOR BIDS THEREFOR., seconded by Councilman Stehle and carried on roll call with Councilmen Fields., Herkners Rosselli, Royer., Stehle and Mayor Weymouth voting yes and Councilman Granger voting no. ACCEPTANCE OF IMPROVEMENTS., BARBOUR TRACT. Acceptance of improvements on Barbour Tract are recommended by the City Engineer subject to the following: 4.. (1) One year guarantee against defects in materials and workmanship. (2) Payment of all monies for engineering and inspection owing the City. Improvements in this tract have been completed with the exception of tree planting and certain side - rpm walk repairs. A deposit of $350 has been received to guarantee completion of the tree planting and 6,," sidewalk repair. Councilman Fields moved to accept the improvements subject to the above conditions and the one year guarantee against defects in workmanship and materials (MINUTE ORDER #60-210)j, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried. RECOMMENDATION OF CITY ENGINEER THAT E. T. HAAS COMPANY BE GRANTED AN ADDITIONAL 45 WORKING DAYS EXTENSION from September 2, 1960., on the Bayshore Industrial Park No. 1 to cover delays beyond the contractorts control. Extension has the written approval of the Bonding Company. Councilman Granger moved to grant the extension as requested (MINUTE ORDER #60-211), seconded by Councilman Royer and carried. Councilman Royer moved that the City Auditor be authorized to pay monies owing E. T. Haas Company except for a $3,000 retentions subject to the signing of an agreement with E. T. Haas Company., to be approved by the project attorneys Co W. Lebsacks and the City Manager (MINUTE ORDER #60-212)s seconded roo by Councilman Stehle and carried. Councilman Rosselli reported on the sign ordinance. The Committee reviewed Palo Alto and Menlo Park ord- inances and were of the opinion that if the proposed sign ordinance of the City were adopted we wonX1 have a far better ordinance than either Menlo Park or Palo Alto. They have agreed on the signs and height of signs and have directed the City Attorney to redraft the whole ordinance and submit same to the Committee who in turn will meet with the Chamber of Commerce and the Council. Councilman Royer moved to accept the report of the Sign Committee and continued the matter for 30 days (MINUTE ORDER #60-213)., seconded by Councilman Stehle and carried. (November 21, 1960) REPORT ON BID OPENING, POLICE CAR& The following bids were received: Bray Motor Company - 1960 Oldsmobile 88 $2s982.88, Net cost Davies Auto Company - 1961 Chevrolet Biscayne $2,502.90 Net cost The sum of $1s000 was included in this year's Police Department budget and the bala nce is available in the Equipment Replacement Fund for this purpose. Since the bid of Davies Auto Company does not meet the minimum advertised specifications it is recommended that the bid of Bray Motor Company be accepted and that a 1960 Oldsmobile 88 be purchased at a total net cost of $2.,982.88. Councilman Rosselli moved adoption of RESOLUTION N0. 3329 AWARDING CONTRACT FOR FURNISHING OF NEW AUTOMOBILE; AND REJECTING ALL OTHER BIDS RECEIVED., seconded by Councilman Stehle and carried unanimously on roll call* REPORT ON BID OPENINGS FIRE CHIEFS CAR. The following bids were received: Leonard Ely Motor Company., Chrysler Newport., 4 door sedan Net Cost $2.9659,45 Ferris Miles Companys Dodge Poloras 4 door sedan Net Cost $2.,755.41 Three bids were received on specifications submitted for the Fire Chief's car. This bid includes the trade-in of a 1955 Dodge. One bid submitted by Davies Auto Company was rejected because it failed to meet specifications. It is recommended that the low bid of Leonard Ely Motor Company on the Chrysler Newport be accepted for the Fire Department.
