Mr. ''"
Fales observed that although the City has conscientiously attempted to
met HUD requirements, they are f requently changed in midstream and it
is hoped something can be accomplished before it is unrealistic to
expect the City to proceed on the project.
Discussion continued regarding the possibilities of improving the Main
Street area, possibly through a redevelopment program, and the need to
look at the general area from Main Street to Woodside Road, anticipating
that such a study will take time and may cost some money if it is to be
worthwhile and used as the basis for improving the area.
It was suggested that the Planning Commission take some time to consider
what has been discussed and determine the directionin which they wish
to proceed.
It was also suggested that Council might wish to make a policy statement
to the effect that they will not hear an application which has been sub-
stantially changed from that which has been presented to the Planning
Corrmission and that such applications will be returned with the new in-
formation to the Commission for reconsideration.
It was generally agreed the joint meeting was very worthwhile and that •-
another meeting might be held in about six months for consideration. of
matters of mutual interest.
Adjournment
Mayor Barrett declared the meeting adjourned at 9:55 p.m.
JACQUELINE C.
