Park and Recreation Comnission report re Report of City Manager 11/27/79 status of LeBlanc and Brizee Parks Report of Director of Parks and Recreation � 11/19/79 In response to inquiry, City Manager Fales advised that notice will be given to the few people presently using the subject mini parks that the leases for the land are being terminated. (memo 12/3/79) MOTION: Leipzig/Biagi to authorize the following action: 1) to allow the lease agreement for the Brizee property to expire January 6, 1980; and 2) to cancel the lease for the LeBlanc property to be effective December 31, 1979 Carried unanimously by voic.e vote. Jordan, Chairman of re Veterans Memorial Buidling Senior Citizens Advisory Comnittee 11/30/79 Thomas J. Jordan, Chairman, Senior Citizens Advisory Committee, commended Council for establishing the Corronittee and referred to the report on the Senior Center development re- lating to use of the Veterans Memorial Building. �"* Discussion followed and Mr. Jordan and City � Manager Fales commented and replied to questions � concerning the anticipated use of the building � as a senior center; the requirements of the Department of Housing and Community Development (HUD) relating to the Comnunity Development Block Grant funds; and the expected cost of remodeling, maintenance and services. MOTION: Leipzig/Norris to accept the Community Development Block Grant funds as a first ;trp toward establishment of the Senior Cr.nter in the Veterans Memorial Building and to refer to the City Attorney the matter of resolution of any possible conflict between the use of the building by veterans and by seniors, and that the Senior Advisory Committee be en- couraged to proceed with the rest of the work necessary to establish the Senior Center.
