Chandler <br /> nnar9uerice�eipzt9 February 12, 1979 <br /> Bob Norris <br /> � <br /> � <br /> Adjourned Meeting - Study Session <br /> Preliminary Annual Budget 1979-80 <br /> The Council of the City of Redwood City met on this date at 9:15 a.m. <br /> with Mayor Barrett presiding. <br /> Councilmen present: Biagi , Bury (arrived 9:50 a.m. ) , Chandler, Leipzig, <br /> Rhodes and Mayor Barrett <br /> Councilmen absent: Norris <br /> Officials and Staff present: City Manager Fales, City Attorney <br /> Schricker, Assistant City Manager Smith, Finance Director Ference, <br /> City Clerk Hildebrand and Planning Director Scfiroeter, Parks and <br /> Recreation Director Weeks, City Librarian Vollmayer, Police Chief <br /> Bold, Personnel Director Brock, Building Inspector Bruce <br /> Award of bid - Tree Spraying <br /> City Manager Fales explained that it is necessary to proceed with the <br /> tree spraying as soon as possible and therefore, award of contract <br /> for that service was placed on the Agenda of this study session rather � <br /> than on that of the next regular meeting of February 26. <br /> � <br /> MOTION: Title having been read, Councilman Biagi introduced the <br /> following resolution and moved, seconded by Councilman Leipzig, its <br /> adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION N0. 8231 AWARDING CONTRACTS FOR THE FURNISHING OF <br /> TREE SPRAYING SERVICES - ASH, OAK AND SYCAMORE TREES; <br /> REJECTING ALL OTHER BIDS RECEIVED <br /> The resolution was adopted unanimously by roll call vote. <br /> Preliminary Review - Annual Budget 1979-1980 <br /> Report of Director of Finance to City Manager of Fe6rua_ry 7, 1979 <br /> re General Governmental Budget Forecast 1979-80 through 1981-8 <br /> Report of Director of Finance to City Manager of February 8, 1979 <br /> �re Progress Report on Reaching 1978-79 Goa1s and 06jectives <br /> City Manager Fales commented concerning the contents of the report on <br /> the General Budget Forecast, observing that operations of the City can <br /> generally be carried on as they presently exist through 1980-81. Mr. � <br /> Fales said that beyond that date serious trouble must be anticipated, <br /> if no permanent solution is found by the Legislature to solve the <br /> problems of funding necessary City services.
