27 � <br /> Re ort re removal of arking <br /> res r c ons on S ree <br /> Assistant City Manager Smith referred to his report of <br /> ,�-., October 11, 197�+ regarding "G" Street and attaching a <br /> report from the Traffic Engineer making certain recom- <br /> � <br /> mendations. <br /> MOTION: Councilman Norris moved, seconded by Councilman <br /> Barrett, that the recommendations contained in the re- <br /> port of October 8, 197� of the Traffic Engineer be <br /> approved. <br /> (Recommendations are as follows : <br /> 1, that the ordinance repealing Section 20.97.1-8 <br /> of Article VII of Chapter 20 of the Code of <br /> the City of Redwood City relating to parking <br /> restrictions on "G" Street in the City of <br /> Redwood City be approved (to be submitted <br /> November �, 197�) ; <br /> 2. that additional street lighting be installed <br /> to provide more illumination on "G" Street. <br /> It was determined that the incidence of mis- <br /> chief and misconduct increases in relation to <br /> distance from the Circle Star Theatre. Illwni- <br /> nation of the dark areas should alleviate some <br /> � of these problems; and <br /> 3, that traffic currently exiting the Circle Star <br /> +� Theatre parking lot and that from the resi- <br /> dential areas of "G" Street should not be <br /> allowed to make left turn movements followin� <br /> performances at the Circle Star Theatre. ) <br /> The motion carried unanimously by voice vote, with <br /> Councilman Leipzig abstaining. (MINUTE ORDER N0. 7�-199) <br /> Mrs. W mer 307 "G" Street, expressed her pleasure that <br /> e peop e v ng n e G" Street area took the time <br /> to present their problem to the City so that action <br /> might be taken to overcome it. <br /> Consent Calendar <br /> Mayor Weymouth announced that Councilman Henderson has <br /> been asked to serve on a 15-member subcommittee of the <br /> Nationa.l League of Cities Effective Government Committee <br /> which will develop policy recommendations for the re- <br /> enactment of the �eneral revenue sharing program and <br /> also on the NLC 's Local Legislators Advisory Committee <br /> � as well as on its 9-member subcommittee. Council mem- <br /> bers commended Councilman Henderson for her willingness <br /> � to take on such national assignments along with her <br /> local and statewide assignments which will result in all <br /> cities being better able to serve their citizens. <br /> MOTION: Titles having been read, Councilman Leipzig <br /> introduced the following resolutions and ordinance and <br /> -8- <br /> Reg.Mtg. <br /> 10/14/74 <br />
