7 t Minutes of Regular Meeting Council of the City of Redwood City Veterans Memorial Building October 15 , 1973 The Council of the City of Redwood City met on this date at 7 : 30 p . m . , with Mayor Keckley presiding . Pledge of Allegiance was led by GAP student Greg Kucich . Invocation was led by Reverend Richard Bimson , First United Methodist Church . Roll Call Councilmen Present : Leipzig , Weymouth , Williams and Mayor Keckley . Councilmen Absent : Henderson , Norris , Rhodes , GAP Students Present : Flores , Kucich , Nagayma , Paridy , Stump , Zanardi . GAP Students Absent : Maigret . Officials and Staff Present : City Manager Fales , City Attorney Schricker , Collector-Treasurer Drivon, City Clerk Hildebrand and Director of Public Works Pusich , Director of Parks and Recreation Weeks , Police Lt . Gsell and Stenographer Hampton , Approval of Minutes - October 8 , 1973 MOTION : Councilman Weymouth moved , seconded by Councilman Williams , to approve the Council Minutes of October 8 , 1973 as distributed . The motion carried unanimously by voice vote . Public Hearing - Abandonment of Public Walkway , Block 17 , Woodside Terrace No . 4 , ( PW File 1002) Mayor Keckley declared open the public hearing concerning the intended abandonment of a public walkway six feet wide extending between Oregon Avenue and Palm Avenue . In response to question from Mayor Keckley , City Clerk Hildebrand advised she had on file affidavits of publication and posting as required for public hearing . Mrs . Hildebrand also stated that no written communications had been received concerning the proposed abandonment . City Manager Fales referred to his report of September 21 regarding the subject abandonment and attaching reports from Director of Public Works Pusich stating that the City no longer needs the public walkway . Mr . Fales stated that an En- vironmental Impact Report - Negative Declaration , had been approved by the Plan- ning Commission at their meeting on August 28 , 1973 . Mayor Keckley invited anyone present who wished to do so to speak concerning the proposed abandonment . MOTION : Councilman Williams moved , seconded by Councilman Leipzig , to close the public hearing . The motion carried unanimously by voice vote . MOTION : Councilman Williams introduced the following resolution , title having been read , and moved , seconded by Councilman Leipzig , its adoption : Resolution No . 7016 , Resolution Abandoning Public Walkway in the City of Redwood City in Accordance with Part 3 of Division 9 , Streets and Highways Code of the State of California . The resolution was adopted unanimously by roll call vote . Bid Awards - Nine Trucks ; Low Bed Truck with Hydraulic Ramps (Mower ) ; Two Trailer Mounted Air Compressors 150 CFM : Four Automobiles . MOTION : Councilman Weymouth introduced the following resolutions , titles having been read , and moved , seconded by Councilman Leipzig, their adoption : Resolution No . 7017 , Resolution Awarding Contract for the Furnishing of Nine Trucks ; and Rejecting all Other Bids Received ; 10/15/73 Reg . Mtg .
