<br /> Valerie O'Grady, 31th Avenue, San Mateo, property owner in Redwood City, <br /> advised Council that those tenants being evicted were not good tenants <br /> and that they damaged the property at 696 Upton. <br /> Denise Santos, 696 Upton, advised that she and her son were hurt in that ---- I <br /> house and she asked Council to put a stop to what was happening there. <br /> I <br /> Carl Labadie, 696B Upton, described the deplorable conditions and code <br /> violations that exist on the property. <br /> , <br /> Danielle Hurchanik, resident of the Redwood Shores Neighborhood, stated I <br /> she was the daughter of the owner, although they do not communicate at <br /> the present time, and she was shocked to hear the prejudicial statements <br /> made by the tenants being evicted. Ms. Hurchanik expressed dismay at <br /> how far the problems with maintenance of the property had gone, and <br /> assured everyone that there was never any intention to do harm. Ms. <br /> Hurchanik asked that everyone work together so this situation could be <br /> resolved happily. <br /> Council discussed the responsibility of the agency that places tenants in <br /> the house at 696 Upton, and other houses in the City with potentially <br /> similar problems. <br /> City Manager Everett advised he would meet with three separate groups: <br /> the neighbors; the new Councilmembers; and would hold a brainstorming <br /> session with Mayor Buchan, Councilmembers Gasparini and Claire, and other <br /> people or groups who wish to participate. <br /> ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> 2.
