In response
to question by Mr , Chan , City Attorney advised that any person wishing
to request amendments to an ordinance can address a letter to the
Mayor or City Manager to that effect .
Mr . Clay Shank , 544 Compass Drive , expressed
appreciation on behalf of the Redwood Shores
Homeowners Association to Staff for assistance
to them during October at their Board meetings .
Secondly , he asked whether the City had re -
ceived a formal proposal from Mobil Oil Estates
regarding Redwood Shores .
City Manager indicated that what he would prefer to call a written
report , rather than a proposal , had been received , and that copies
could be reproduced for them , if desired . Mr . Shank stated that he
would pick up a copy at City Hall ,
Mayor Keckley announced that appointment had been made to the vacancy
on the Housing Concerns Committee , of Oscar Vega, who would attend
his first meeting next Wednesday .
Councilman Rhodes suggested continuing nominations for appointment to
the Architectural Committee and the Civic Cultural Commission to the
first meeting of December . Mayor Keckley concurred , and appointment
calendar set as follows : Close nominations December 4th ; appointment
December 11th .
Councilman Henderson moved at 8 : 58 p . m . to adjourn to Executive Session
for discussion of matter of pending litigation and of labor negotia-
tions , seconded by Councilman Norris and carried .
Regular meeting reconvened at 10 : 32 p . m .
City Attorney briefly reviewed for Council request which had been received
from the general contractor , L . C . Smith Company , for Marlin Subdivision
No , 1 Improvements , to file a corporate surety bond in the amount of
125 per cent of the funds withheld under the contract with the contractor
pursuant to stop notices , in order to release such funds for payment of
some of the unpaid subcontractors on the job not involved with the pend -
ing legal suit against the City . He reminded that he had not recom-
mended release of the "undisputed " funds which he also discussed with
Council .
Reg , Mtg .
11/6/72
