Motion to uphold the <br />Planning Commission carried on roll call vote, Councilmen Arnett, Henderson, <br />Keckley, Petersen and Weymouth voting yes; and Councilman Rhodes and <br />Mayor Bury voting no. (MINUTE ORDER #70-118) <br />Report and recommendation of Ordinance Review Committee regarding appeals for <br />ex_tenslon of time to allow continued use of non -conforming signs. <br />Vice -Mayor Keckley, Chairman, referred to the Committee's written report, <br />which had been provided to Council, and suggested consideration of each <br />of the appeals separately. <br />908 Main Street, Sequoia Auto Parts. Committee recommended denial. Council- <br />man Keckley moved to deny requested extension of one year, seconded by <br />Councilman Henderson, Chief Building Official noted that each appellant had <br />been notified in writing of meeting and of the action taken by the Committee. <br />In the case of 908 Main Street, he added the sign had already been painted <br />out. Motion carried. (MINUTE ORDER #70-119-A) <br />747 El Camino Real, Redwood City Office Supply. Extension was requested <br />contingent on renewal on September 1, 1970, of lease by present tenants. <br />Current lease would run to March, 1971 and further extension was requested <br />to that date on assumption the lease would either be renewed, or the property <br />vacant at that time. Committee recommended extension to September 1, 1970, <br />when correction of the sign would be required. <br />Councilman Keckley moved to approve extension of time to September 1, 1970, <br />seconded by Councilman Arnett and carried. (MINUTE ORDER #70-119-B) <br />633 El Camino Real, Van Ness Auto Supply. Request was for indefinite <br />extension of time for use of a sign far exceeding permitted size. Committee <br />recommended denial. <br />Councilman Keckley moved that Council take action that owner be notified <br />concerning compliance, and request for extension be denied, seconded by <br />Councilman Henderson and carried. (MINUTE ORDER #70-119-C) <br />2215 Broadway, Fox Theater (Fox West Coast Theaters). Request was for five- <br />year extension to amortize and change over. In addition, the theater is up <br />for sale, although no bids received to date. Major structural change <br />would be required, also, at prohibitive cost, in order to bring the sign to <br />conformance. <br />
