329 <br />Minutes of Regular Meeting <br />Redwood City Council <br />July 27, 1970 7:30 P.M. <br />Pledge of Allegiance led by Councilman Rhodes. <br />Invocation led by Reverend Larry Irons, Sequoia United Presbyterian Church, <br />ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present: Councilmen Dixon Arnett, Paul C. Keckley, <br />William C. Rhodes, Ray A. Weymouth, Mayor Robert H. Bury, and City Clerk Marian <br />McCrindle. Noted absent were Councilmen Mary W. Henderson and Herbert G. Petersen. <br />(Councilman Petersen entered the meeting at 7:42 P.M.) Also noted present were <br />City Manager Howard C. Ullrich, City Attorney David E. Schricker, Assistant City <br />Manager Henry V. Burget, Police Chief John R. McDonald, Jr., Fire Chief John <br />Keller, Director of Public Works J. Louis Scherer, Planning Director Ken Schroeter, <br />City Treasurer Harriet Drivon, and Secretary Frances Reggetts, <br />Councilman Keckley moved to approve, as mailed, Minutes of the Meeting of July 20th <br />of the Board of Equalization for GID 1-64, and Minutes of Regular Meeting of <br />July 20, 1970, seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried. <br />Councilman Keckley moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 6348 APPROVING EXTENSION OF AGREEMENT <br />BETWEEN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO CONCERNING TRANSIENT <br />OCCUPANCY TAX, seconded by Councilman Arnett, <br />The City and County had entered into an agreement in 1967, providing for <br />contribution by the City of a portion of its transient occupancy tax, not to <br />exceed $10,000 per year. Agreement provides for successive one year periods <br />of participation, subject to condition that the Board of Supervisors of San <br />Mateo County extend the agreement. Such resolution extending agreement by the <br />County was adopted on July 21st, and a certified copy is on file in Clerk's office. <br />Motion carried on roll call vote, Councilmen Henderson and Petersen being noted <br />absent. <br />EL CAMINO-WHIPPLE Traffic Plan. Ordinance restricting traffic on Whipple Avenue had <br />previously been introduced, but subsequently was revised to reflect changes approved <br />on July 20th by Council, and reintroduction was necessary. <br />Councilman Arnett moved to introduce Ordinance amending Section 20.96.20 and Section <br />20.97.4 of Article VII of Chapter 20 of the Code of the City of Redwood City, <br />relating to parking restrictions on Whipple Avenue in the City of Redwood City, <br />seconded by Councilman Keckley. Motion carried on roll call vote, Councilmen <br />Henderson and Petersen being noted absent. <br />
