Miller ' s property , Director of Public <br /> Works advising of theCity ordinance prohibiting a steeper road grade than 15% . <br /> Councilman Petersen moved to continue this public hearing to February 24 , 1969 , <br /> seconded by Councilman Keckley . It was pointed out motion to include intent <br /> that Staff will meet with those involved in this proceeding to answer any <br /> questions relating to annexation , as evidence presented during hearing indicated , <br /> cooperation could be had to resolve the problems involved . <br /> Mayor Bury noted again City Attorney ' s statement that should problems be re - <br /> solved before next hearing on this annexation , protestants could withdraw their <br /> protests by a written statement to this effect , and expressed hope that this <br /> would be done . Motion carried , ( MINUTE ORDER #69-9 ) <br /> PUBLIC HEARING , Resolution of Intention to Annex, EDGEWOOD ROAD ANNEXATION NO , 1 , <br /> declared open and affidavit of publication and mailing ordered filed . It was <br /> noted Council had previously adopted the Resolution of Intention to annex this <br /> area after approval by the LAFC ; that area is comprised of five parcels , in- <br /> cluding the Rossi property , for which a sewer connection permit had previously <br /> been granted , conditioned upon the annexation . City Clerk reported a letter of <br /> protest had been received from <br /> Mr . and. .Mrs . Christian Hagnere , 1381 Edgewood Road . <br /> It was noted this protest represented only an 8 . 97% of the total assessed valu- <br /> ation of the property proposed for annexation , Council was reminded that some <br /> of the parcels in this annexation were included in a much larger annexation <br /> some years ago under an election procedure which had lost , but that repeated <br /> requests had been received since that time from isolated parcels requesting an- <br /> nexation besides sewer connection permits prior to annexation . <br /> There being no further communications or oral protests , Councilman Rosselli moved <br /> to close the public hearing, seconded by Councilman Keckley . Councilman Hender- <br /> son noted specific statement in letter of protest from Mrs . Hagnere which she <br /> felt should be answered by Staff relating to possibility of "match box " dwellings <br /> resulting from annexation . <br /> Mrs . Christian Hagnere , 1381 Edgewood Road , appeared to <br /> question , if annexation approved , when it would be ef- <br /> fective and what advantages would result . <br /> City Attorney advised that thirty days after adoption of the ordinance and subse - <br /> quent certification by the Secretary of State the annexation would be complete . <br /> an x ; <br />
