849 <br /> The City Manager reminded the Council that they had approved in principle , purchase <br /> of the additional bleachers needed for the Bowling Tournament for Mels ' Bowl , but <br /> a resolution transferring the funds for this purpose will still be needed . M . <br /> Pledge of Allegiance led by Councilman Keckley . <br /> Invocation led by Reverend David Howell , First Congregational Church . <br /> ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present : Councilmen Dixon Arnett , Mary W . Henderson , <br /> Paul C . Keckley , Herbert G . Petersen , John S . Rosselli , Ray A . Weymouth , Mayor Robert <br /> H . Bury , and City Clerk Helen C . Moore . Also noted present were City Manager Howard <br /> C . Ullrich , City Attorney David E . Schricker , Assistant City Manager Henry V . Burget , <br /> Fire Chief J . L . Lodi , Police Captain George Bold , Planning Director Ken Schroeter , <br /> Director of Public Works J . Louis Scherer , Auditor -Accountant Jack Ference , and <br /> Deputy City Clerk Marian McCrindle . <br /> Councilman Keckley moved to approve Minutes of Regular Meeting of May 19 , 1969 , as mailed , <br /> and Minutes of Adjourned Regular Meeting of May 21 , 1969 , as mailed , seconded by <br /> Councilman Weymouth and carried . <br /> Progress Report - CATV installation <br /> City Manager introduced Mr . William Sinkunas , Vice President of Peninsula Cable TV <br /> Company , and asked that he report to Council on progress of this installation . <br /> Mr . Sinkunas , 1318 Marlin Avenue , Foster City , described <br /> from a chart the routing of 36 . 7 miles of the so far <br /> completed distribution and trunk facilities with 1125 <br /> subscribers for this service , and many more orders to be <br /> installed . He thought it most important to note that <br /> residents of Farm Hill area will be receiving service <br /> within 21 days , unless unforseen problems arise . He <br /> advised installation crews were in the field daily be - <br /> cause pole relocation now causing no problems . <br /> He stated chart did not show the Redwood Shores area <br /> where work also progressing daily with the underground - <br /> ing of this installation with other facilities . He also <br /> advised there were 114 additional outlets to homes with <br /> more than one television set . He also noted the master <br /> antenna site up above San Carlos being not complete but <br /> not yet switched around , but would be in service within <br /> 40 days to serve all three communities (Belmont , San Carlos <br /> and Redwood City ) <br /> City Manager requested information to question being asked concerning connections <br /> made to portable television sets and whether they would be unuseable as portable sets . <br /> Mr . Sinkunas described a simple disconnection which would permit the set to be moved <br /> from one location to another . In reply to questions as to converter installations , <br /> Council was advised because of present pending litigation only a few such services <br /> were in the area , as it was hoped FCC would make an official ruling soon before any <br /> large expenditures made for this type of service . <br /> MIN ^ • 139 <br />
