Civic Cultural Commission Page 5 <br /> Minutes of September 5, 2002 <br /> -Public Art <br /> Commissioner Britschgi reported the sub-committee needs to reconvene to <br /> finish work on the public art ordinance. <br /> ITEM 4 - GIFT OF ART WORK TO CITY <br /> Director Centeno presented a painting which has been donated to the <br /> department by artist Eddie Rosenstiel and asked the Commission to consider <br /> accepting it as a piece of public art. <br /> M/S Douglas/Williams: To accept the watercolor painting from Eddie <br /> Rosenstiel as a gift to the City and send him an acknowledgement of <br /> his gift. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> M/S Williams/Kushin: To re-frame and re-mat the art work from <br /> Eddie Rosenstiel at a cost not to exceed $500.00. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> ITEM 5 -EVALUATION OF CULTURAL EVENTS HELD OVER THE PAST <br /> 30 DAYS <br /> The Commissioners attended the following events during the past 30 days: <br /> Kushin - Joan Baez at Villa Montalvo, Egyptian exhibit in SF, Chekhov play, <br /> "Ragtime" at Mt. View Performing Arts Center, summer concerts <br /> Douglas - Laguna Beach Art Fair, artist in residence program, summer <br /> concerts <br /> Williams - Artist in Residence program at Healdsburg winery <br /> Britschgi - Kings Mountain Art Fair, summer concerts <br /> Dale - Concert and art show in Bear Valley, summer concerts <br /> ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> -Chairperson Dale will be facilitating a remembrance/reflection event on <br /> September 11 at the Main Library from 6:30-8:30pm. <br /> Items for September meeting: Public Art Ordinance, Review of Summer <br /> Concert Survey Results and Public Input, Friends of the Civic Cultural <br /> Commission, Ledesma Painting for Sale by Toni Carner <br /> The regular meeting of the Civic Cultural Commission was adjourned at <br /> 9:57pm to be reconvened at 7:00pm on Thursday, October 3, 2002 at the <br /> Community Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, <br /> California. <br />
