It was suggested that TRIPS encourage SamTrans <br /> to provide sensitivity training for its drivers. <br /> Commissioner Jordan mentioned there is a new national program entitled <br /> "Project Action" which will be producing a new program of grants. He said <br /> the Cerenio Management Group, a paratransit broker from San Francisco, is <br /> currently formulating a proposal to Project Action to provide consumer <br /> training on paratransit issues. <br /> ROUNDTABLE <br /> -Chairperson Anthony asked for more participation from all Commissioners <br /> regarding Matters of Commission Interest. <br /> -Commissioners Berglund and Lloyd visited the Fair Oaks Senior Center to <br /> meet with Executive Director Bransford to discuss the senior survey. <br /> -Commissioner Lloyd reported the Human Race was held on Saturday, May 9 and <br /> five walkers participated from the Veterans Memorial Senior Center. <br /> _ -Library Supervisor Hamilton reported the Redwood City Library won <br /> $5,000.00 for the Library of the Year Award from the Library Journal and <br /> Gale Research Company. The award was received because of the Library's <br /> outstanding community support activities. She also mentioned the video <br /> entitled "A Day in the Life" and recommended showing it to the Commission. <br /> -Supervisor Kucala announced the Peninsula Moviemakers are doing a video on <br /> the Veterans Memorial Senior Center. <br /> -Commissioner Lloyd mentioned he received information on reverse mortgages <br /> and would like to share it with the Commissioners. This item will be <br /> placed on the June agenda. <br /> The regular meeting of the Senior Affairs Commission was adjourned at <br /> to be reconvened at 9:00am on Wednesday, June 10, 1992 at the Fair Oaks <br /> Senior Center, 2600 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, California. <br />
