The following schedule was set up for guest speakers: <br /> September - HIP October - Kaiser November - Aetna <br /> Chairperson Anthony felt there may be a need to have a second Senior <br /> Chairperson Anthony felt there may be a need to have a second Senior <br /> Affairs Commission meeting in September in order to prepare for the <br /> October 4 City Council Study Session. <br /> Roundtable <br /> -Chairperson Anthony and Commissioner Lloyd will be attending the Housing <br /> and Human Concerns Committee meeting this evening to hear the final review <br /> of the CHAS program. <br /> -Commissioners Berglund and Truscelli will be out of town for the September <br /> Commission meeting. <br /> -Commissioner Lloyd said he will be attending "Seniors on the Move" <br /> workshop on September 20 sponsored by Assemblywoman Jackie Spier. He <br /> suggested calling (415) 827-4100 to receive an application to attend the <br /> event. <br /> -Chairperson Anthony said he received a newsletter from the Redwood City <br /> office of Social Security and noted changes in the policy regarding SSI <br /> and Medi-Cal benefits. The newsletter explained that California has <br /> decided to reduce the SSP portion of SSI checks. If someone loses their <br /> SSI, Medi-Cal coverage will now continue. Previously, if someone lost <br /> their SSI eligibility, they would also lose their Medi-Cal coverage. <br /> Social Security indicated that everyone effected would be notified. <br /> -There will be a spaghetti feed on Saturday, August 14 from 12noon to 2pm <br /> at the Veterans Memorial Senior Center to support the Mayor's Mid-West <br /> Flood Relief Program. <br /> The regular meeting of the Senior Affairs Commission was adjourned at <br /> 10:35am to be reconvened at 9:00am on Wednesday, September 8, 1993 at the <br /> Senior Center Annex, 711 Nevada Street, Redwood City, California. <br />
