Manager Jan Knight announced that in the next 6-12 months, the
Library will organize a needs assessment in Redwood Shores to determine
what components the community would like to see in a proposed City facility
at Marine and Bridge Parkways. She explained that Sandpiper Community
Center is a multi-age facility which has shared-use with the Sandpiper
Elementary School. Manager Knight stated that a community task force will be
organized very soon and asked that if anyone was interested in participating
on the task force, to please let her know.
Manager Knight stated that many of the housing complexes in the Shores
have community rooms, so meeting space is usually not an issue. She
explained that many seniors go to San Carlos or Belmont senior centers
because transportation to Redwood City is an issue.
Manager Linda Griffith spoke about the survey the Commission is developing
which will be ready for review at the May Commission meeting.
