PLAN , AND TO PROVIDE FOR CAPITAL IMPROVE- <br /> MENTS ; Al*TD FIXING AND LEVYING- T iE TAX RATE THEREFOR <br /> THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOET OWS : <br /> SECTION 1 . The total amount of money to be raised by tax- <br /> ation upon the taxable property within the City of Redwood City <br /> to provide revenue to meet the general municipal expenses and to <br /> carry on the various departments of said City for the fiscal <br /> year July 1 , 1959- June 30 , 1960 ; to pay the interest and principal <br /> upon all of the outstanding bonded indebtedness of said City , <br /> due and becoming payable during said fiscal year ; to maintain <br /> the public library of mid City during said fiscal year ; to provide <br /> for the expansion, maintenance , and operation of the buildings and <br /> grounds of the Veterans Memorial of said City ; to provide funds <br /> for the City ' s contribution to the retirement plan voted at the <br /> municipal election of April 9 , 1940 ; and , to provide for the ac - <br /> quisition and construction of permanent improvements , real property , <br /> public buildings and structures , and public offices , including <br /> equipping and furnishing of the same ; is hereby fixed at the total <br /> sum of One Million , Four Hundred Eighty- seven Thousand , Four <br /> Hundred Twenty-nine Dollars ( $ 1 , 457 , 429 . 00 ) <br /> SECTION 2 . The following general and special tax rates for <br /> the areas hereinafter set forth are hereby levied and fixed for <br /> the fiscal year July 1 , 1959- June 30 , 1960 , to raise the total <br /> revenues set forth in Section 1 hereof in the amounts set forth <br /> herein as follows , to wit : <br /> • <br />
