1 19 <br /> On motion of Councilman Jones , seconded by Councilman McCarthy , the City Attorney was <br /> instructed to draw up an amendment to the present tax collection ordinance changing the <br /> present penalties and incorporating the penalties suggested in the City Manager ' s report , <br /> with the understanding also that the City Tax Collector would be at liberty to accept <br /> payment of delinquent taxes on the basis to be incorporated in this amendment , that is <br /> g% on the first installment and. 3% after April 20 on both the first installment and the <br /> second installment , with 7% interest after July 1st following, all of which to be retro- <br /> active. <br /> In consideration of the service which A. W. Russell had given in the Volunteer Fire Depart- <br /> ment and the loss of his automobile which was wrecked recently while he was responding <br /> to a fire alarm, it was decided , on motion of Councilman Fletcher , seconded by Councilman <br /> Eva , to replace his car at a cost not to exceed $210 . 00 , with the understanding also that <br /> any damages which might be paid to him by the owner of the other car should revert to the <br /> City , and the City Manager was instructed accordingly. <br /> Upon motion of Councilman McNulty , seconded by Councilman Jones , $10 . 00 was appropriated and <br /> donated to the Humane Society toward the expense of its Pet Animal Show. <br /> Councilman McCarthy , seconded by Councilman McNulty , submitted for adoption the following <br /> resolution , which in fact supports Senate Bill No . 17 . <br /> RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redwood City <br /> that request be made to the State Senate , the State Assembly and <br /> the Governor of California , that favorable consideration be given <br /> to the petition of the Board of Supervisors of the City and County <br /> of San Francisco for the return of the water front to that City <br /> and County , subject to such restrictions as may be necessary to <br /> protect the credit of the State , the Civil Service standing of the <br /> water front employees and the individual status of the Harbor Com- <br /> missioners , all in conformity with Resolution No . 1797 of the City <br /> and County of San Francisco . <br /> Resolution passed unanimously. <br /> The approved claims were ordered paid on motion of Councilman McNulty , seconded by Councilman <br /> Jones . <br /> Adjournment . <br /> '1 - / 1 <br /> City Clerk ir <br /> BEM : MR <br />
