L30 <br /> The matter of the tourist camp at Five Points was discussed and upon motion of Councilman <br /> Fletcher , seconded by Councilman Eva, and carried the Building Inspector was ordered <br /> to abate any nuisance at said tourist camp . <br /> Councilman Fletcher brought up the matter of the old tree stumps on the Southern Pacific <br /> property adjacent to California Street , and. the matter was referred to the City Manager <br /> to take up with the Southern Pacific with the view of having the same removed. <br /> Councilman Christensen brought up the matter of a horse shoe course and the same was referred <br /> to the City Manager for further action and recommendation. <br /> Councilman Eva brought up the matter of lighting the tennis courts , and upon motion of <br /> Councilman Eva, seconded by Councilman Christensen , and carried , the City Manager and <br /> the City Engineer were instructed to install the necessary lights to permit playing in <br /> the evenings upon the courts . <br /> The City Attorney reported relative to a conference with various bondholders on 1915 bonds <br /> and especially with reference to a meeting in Stockton with Mr . E. C . Stewart of the <br /> Union Safe Deposit Bank , at which conference it was agreed to take care of the request <br /> made by Mr. Stewart in the first three provisions of Mr . Rutherford' s letter of May 31 , <br /> 1935 , to the City Council , and upon motion of Councilman Christensen , seconded by <br /> Councilman McCarthy , and carried , the Treasurer was authorized and directed to pay to <br /> Mr. Stewart the amounts mentioned in the first , second and third provisions of Mr. Ruther- <br /> ford' s letter of May 31 , 1935 , the first two covering interest payments and the third <br /> providing for the payment of four bonds as therein specified. <br /> Communication was read from the First National Bank offering the city certain street improve- <br /> ment bonds . <br /> The matter of an adjusted assessment was discussed by Mr . Rolison, and upon motion of Council- <br /> man McCarthy , seconded by Councilman Christensen , and carried , the City Manager was <br /> authorized to have certain work done in connection therewith. <br /> Upon motion of Councilman McCarthy , seconded by Councilman Christensen , and carried, the <br /> claims presented and approved were ordered paid. <br /> Upon motion of Councilman Jones , seconded by Councilman Fletcher , and carried , the Council <br /> adjourned. <br /> B .
