215 <br /> It was decided to amend the Mused car" Lot ordinance to read that a license fee of <br /> $200 per year shall be charged instead of $300 per year as was previously intro- <br /> duced. The ordinance , as amended , was re-introduced on motion of Councilman <br /> Eva , seconded by Councilman Christensen , with Councilman Hohn voting "No" . <br /> A letter was read from the Planning Commission recommending that a portion of Mr . <br /> Davies ' lot on Vera Avenue and El Camino Real be rezoned from residential to <br /> business property. <br /> On motion of Councilman Eva , seconded by Councilman Hohn , an ordinance was introduced <br /> rezoning the west 73 feet of Lot 1 , Block A , W. W . & M. from the second residential <br /> district to the business district . <br /> On motion of Councilman Eva, seconded by Councilman McNulty , Al Davies was given per- <br /> mission to erect a temporary office building on his 'used car" lot at the corner <br /> of El Camino Real and Vera Avenue. <br /> The Planning Commission , having recommended that set back lines on streets within <br /> the business zone be abolished except where such lines are established for future <br /> street widening purpose , was requested , on motion of Councilman Eva , seconded by <br /> Councilman Hohn , to make a thorough study of the existing set backs and report <br /> to the Council with more specific recommendations . <br /> On motion of Councilman Eva , seconded by Councilman Fletcher , the City Council appro- <br /> priated $270 for an ad in the " California Homes" magazine for a period of three <br /> months. <br /> The City Attorney was instructed , on motion of Councilman Christensen , seconded by <br /> Councilman Fletcher , to start the necessary proceedings to annex certain lands <br /> between the northerly and easterly lines of Redwood City and San Francisco Bay <br /> as outlined by the City Engineer. <br /> I On motion of Councilman Eva , seconded by Councilman Christensen , an ordinance was <br /> ' N- introduced for the issuance of harbor bonds . <br /> On motion of Councilman Eva , seconded by Councilman Fletcher , Councilman Christensen <br /> was given permission to leave the State . <br /> A letter was read from the Italian-American Progressive Club recommending that an <br /> underpass or some other safety device be constructed at the Broadway Crossing of <br /> the Southern Pacific Company. The Club also expressed itself as being in favor <br /> of the playground or park to be located on the old corporation yard property at <br /> the corner of Chestnut Street and the Middlefield Road. <br /> On motion of Councilman McNulty , seconded by Councilman Fletcher , H. J. Fitzgerald , <br /> of the M & M was granted a permit to hold dances at his place of business on <br /> July 11 and 18 until 1 o ' clock a. m. , and all other establishments of a similar <br /> nature were given permission to hold dances on the 11th and lgth.
