217 <br /> Councilman Eva , submitted proposed agreement between the City and the Chamber of Commerce <br /> relating to the handling of publicity for the City. On motion of Councilman Fletcher , <br /> seconded by Councilman Eva , it was decided to submit the draft of agreement to the <br /> Chamber of Commerce for its acceptance . <br /> On motion of Councilman Fletcher , seconded by Councilman McNulty , Councilman Eva was granted <br /> permission to leave the State . <br /> On motion of Councilman Eva, seconded by Councilman Hohn , it was decided to buy the $2 , 500 <br /> of 1915 Act Bonds offered by Stone & Youngberg, Series K-5 at 8g flat , and Series N at <br /> 90 flat . The City Treasurer was asked to arrange the purchase . <br /> In connection with a letter from Stone & Youngberg suggesting that a man should be sent at <br /> once to Los Angeles and nearby cities to make personal contact with some forty bond- <br /> holders , it was decided to do this with the understanding that the Mants expenses would <br /> be paid , that bonds might be bought not to exceed $5 , 000 on a two-point basis , or options <br /> might be taken for ninety days . <br /> On motion of Councilman Eva , seconded by Councilman McNulty , the City Attorney was requested <br /> to ask for a writo of review or rehearing in the matter of closing certain Redwood City <br /> streets . <br /> Following considerable discussion about the unsightliness of many old buildings in Redwood <br /> City, the building inspector was asked to make a list of the objectionable buildings <br /> that some effort might be made to eliminate them. <br /> Councilman Fletcher asked the City Manager if the old concrete settling tank at the Chestnut <br /> Street Waterworks could be converted into a municipal swimming pool . He also suggested <br /> that the city try to acquire the triangle of land between Bayshore Highway and Harbor <br /> Boulevard. The City Manager agreed to investigate and file report at the meeting of <br /> August 17th. <br /> The approved claims were ordered paid on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman <br /> Fletcher. <br /> Adjournment . <br /> E% <br /> City Clef"k fr <br /> BEM : <br />
