<br /> Upon roll call , the following Councilmen were present : Mayor Paul A, McCarthy , L . C . Chris-
<br /> tensen , J. M. Eva , E . A, Fletcher , Wm. Hohn , R. N. Jones , G. W. McNulty and City Clerk ,
<br /> B. E . Myers. Absent : None .
<br /> The minutes of the meeting of April 5 , 1937 , were approved on motion of Councilman Christensen ,
<br /> seconded by Councilman Hohn.
<br /> The advisability of again taking a half page ad in the Real Estate Magazine came up for
<br /> discussion , and upon recommendation of the Chamber of Commerce , it was decided , on
<br /> motion of Councilman Christensen , seconded by Councilman Fletcher , to authorize this
<br /> expenditure of $55 . 00 , to be paid from the publicity allotment handled by the Chamber
<br /> of Commerce.
<br /> D. L. Bogie , 24 Fulton Street , addressed the Council concerning the killing of pet rabbits
<br /> which he had had on the rear of his lot . Mr . Bogie explained that a dog , sometime in
<br /> the early morning , had broken into the cages and had killed several pet rabbits , and
<br /> asked the Council if it were possible to do something to avoid such a happening in the
<br /> future . It was remembered that a dog ordinance had been proposed requiring dogs , when
<br /> away from the owner ' s property , to be either on leash or in a closed automobile , and it
<br /> was decided to reopen the discussion of such an ordinance.
<br /> After filing Affidavit of Publication of Notice of Public Hearing on Ordinance No . 393 , re-
<br /> lating to set back lines on East Fuller Street , the ordinance was unanimously adopted on
<br /> motion of Councilman Pletcher , seconded by Councilman Eva.
<br /> After filing Affidavit of Publication of Notice of P+ablic Hearing , Ordinance No . 392 ,
<br /> amending the salary ordinance , was unanimously adopted on motion of Councilman Fletcher ,
<br /> seconded by Councilman Christensen.
<br /> After filing Affidavit by C . L. Dimmitt , Superintendent of Streets , of Posting Notice to
<br /> Destroy Weeds , Councilman Fletcher , seconded by Councilman Hohn , proposed the adoption
<br /> of resolution requiring the abatement of nuisance ( weeds ) . Unanimously carried.
<br /> Henry W. Edmonds , Secretary of the Port Commission , and also A. B . Cheatham , of the Commis-
<br /> sion , addressed the Council concerning the desirability of buying or obtaining options
<br /> to all the lands adjacent to the Redwood City Harbor. After considerable discussion
<br /> as to how this could be done if desired , on motion of Councilman Eva , seconded by
<br /> Councilman Fletcher , the Mayor was instructed to appoint a committee to see the property
<br /> owners and endeavor to obtain options on the different parcels of land. The Mayor
<br /> appointed City Manager Dimmitt , and Port Commissioner Hinman to serve on a committee
<br /> with the Mayor.
<br /> The question of pin ball games was laid over to the second meeting in May.
<br /> The City Manager asked for further time in making report concerning the probable cost of
<br /> a new City Hall .
<br /> Councilman Fletcher spoke for the Harbor Festival Committee . Following his discussion it was
