305 MINUTES CP REGULAR ADJOURNED MEETING REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL JUNE 2S , 1937 b : OO P. M. Upon roll call , the folio-ring Councilmen were present : Mayor Paul A. McCarthy , Councilmen L , C . Christensen , J . M . Eva , Thu . T?ohn , and G. W. McNulty . Absent : Councilmen E . A. Fletcher , R. N . Jones , and City Clerk , B . E. Myers . On motion or Councilman Christensen , seconded by Councilman Mctulty , Councilman Eva was chosen to serve as Clerk pro tem in the absence of the City Clerk . The City Manager submitted a P . W. A. application for addition to harbor and warehouse , being an amendatory application affecting P. W. A. project , California 14E5-D . Following this , Councilman McNulty , seconded by Councilman Christensen , proposed the adoption of the following resolution: "A resolution authorizing the Mayor or Redwood City to file an application to the United States of Americo through the Federal Emergency Administration of Public Works for a grant to aid in financing the construction of Warehouse To . 1 and completion of Wharf No . 1 and designating the City Manager to furnish such information as the Government may request . 3e it resolved by the City Council of Redwood City: Section 1 . That The Mayor , be and he is authorized to execute and file an application on behalf of the City of Redwood City gra. financing to the United States of Americo. for a grant to aid in financi the construction of Warehouse No . 1 and completion of Wharf No . 1 . Section 2 . That the City Manager , be hereby authorized and directed to furnish such information as the United States of America through the Federal Emergency Administration of Public Works may reasonably request in connection with the applica- tion which is herein authorized to be filed. 1' Carried. There was submitted a letter from George A. Merrill regarding certain playground equip- ment which had been at the Lux School at San Francisco . The equipment was offered to the City for $275 . On motion of Councilman Christensen , seconded by Councilman "cNulty , the City Manager was authorized to purchase the equipment at the price offered. Carried. The City Manager submitted a letter to the Council concerning the completion of the contract of the Healy-Tibbitts Construction Company indicating that the completion date is July 9 , 1937 . The Manager recommended that because the work had b°en delayed by strike conditions and other causes that the date for the completion of the contract be advanced to September 9 , 1937 . This was done on motion of Council - man McTh lty , seconded by Councilman Christensen. The City Manager submitted a letter indicating that W. 0 . Tyson would be unable to complete the work under his contract by the specified date of September 12 , 1937 , The Manager therefore recommended that an extension of time for the completion of the contract be made and that the date be advanced. to October 15 , 1937. The Manager ' s recommendation was accepted and the time extended as recommended on motion of Councilman Rohn , seconded by Councilman Christensen.
