The Clerk <br /> was instructed to bring up the matter at the second meeting in October . <br /> The City Attorney was asked to draw up an ordinance affecting the licensing of <br /> restaurants wherein intoxicating liquors were sold or expected to be sold, <br /> on motion of Councilman Eva , seconded by Councilman McNulty. <br /> On motion of Councilman Fletcher , seconded by Councilman McNulty, the Clerk was <br /> asked to write to Fire Chief Ryan and Police Chief Collins , letters express- <br /> ing the appreciation of the Council for the efforts and cooperation of the <br /> two chiefs and the men of their respective departments in connection with <br /> the Harbor Festival. <br /> On motion of Councilman Eva , seconded by Councilman McNulty, the Clerk was asked <br /> to write a letter to each member of the Harbor Opening Festival Committee <br /> to thank him for his participation in the details which made the festival <br /> so successful . <br /> On motion of Councilman Eva , seconded by Councilman Fletcher , the Council went <br /> on record as expressing the highest appreciation and commendation to <br /> City Manager Dimmitt and Port Manager Murphy for their part in making <br /> the Harbor Opening Festival so successful . <br /> On motion of Councilman Fletcher , seconded by Councilman Eva , the Clerk was asked <br /> to write letters of appreciation to the Greyhound line and to Andrew Spinas , <br /> Superintendent of Schools , for the use of buses . <br /> On motion of Councilman Eva , seconded by Councilman Christensen, it was agreed <br /> that , in granting the extension of time of completion for the contract <br /> of Healy- Tibbitts Construction Company for the construction of the ware- <br /> house and transit shed at Redwood Harbor to the 20th day of October , 1937 , <br /> liquidated damages at the rate of $50. 00 a day were specifically waived <br /> by the City of Redwood City up to and including said 20th day of October , <br /> 1937 , the new date for the completion of said contract , California Project <br /> No . 1445- 1-D. <br /> On motion of Councilman Eva , seconded by Councilman Christensen , 11 resolutions <br /> accepting Quit Claim deeds on property affected by 1915 Act delinquent <br /> assesments were adopted . <br /> On motion of Councilman Eva , seconded by Councilman Christensen , it was decided <br /> to have the City incur the necessary expense for Mr . George Paul to receive <br /> appointment as Notary Public for San Mateo County. <br /> Led by Councilman Eva , there was some discussion concerning the volunteer Redwood <br /> City hand . It was suggested that Recreational Director Morton locate a <br /> satisfacotry place for practice either in the Fire House auditorium or <br /> elsewhere .
