The President of the Chamber of Commerce in a letter to the Council indicated that it was the consensus of opinion that the Tabernacle now located at the corner of EL Camino Real and James Avenue was detrimental to the best interests of Redwood City , and he asked that the Council deny any request for extension of time. On motion of Councilman Anderson , seconded by Councilman Fletcher , the Clerk was asked to write a letter to the management of the Tabernacle , indicating that there was criticism of the building being located at that place and that it was the desire of the Council that the building be removed on or before the date originally agreed upon. At this meeting there was again brought up for discussion the question of what to do about real estate signs. The Clerk had requested Mrs . Dusel and Mr . Marlow to appear in an effort to get them to cooperate with the other realtors . Several real estate agents were present and entered into a discussion , and a letter from Mrs. Dusel was read. The prevailing theme was that all signs should be eliminated , if any were . After much discussion , Councilman McCarthy , seconded by Councilman Fletcher , proposed that the City Attorney draw up a tentative ordinance similar to the one already introduced before the Council at San Carlos with copies being furnished to Councilmen and interested real estate brokers .
