376 <br /> Action on termite control and title to cemetery were laid over for four weeks . The <br /> City attorney also reported that he might be able at the next meeting to have <br /> something definite concerning the library property title . <br /> Mr . E . M. McGlade , representing the West Coast Advertising Company , explained that <br /> the question of granting him space had. been under consideration by the Planning <br /> Commission, but no decision had been reached , and because he had a project which <br /> had to be entered into by April 1 , he requested the Council to grant him a <br /> temporary permit at three locations . As no member of the Council seemed in- <br /> clined to grant the request , no action was taken . <br /> It mas moved by Councilman Fletcher , seconded by Councilman Christensen , that the <br /> alley in the Perry Subdivision be designated as Commercial Street , and it was so <br /> ordered with the understanding that formal ordinance would be introduced at the <br /> next meeting . <br /> Al Morton explained to the Council the proposal that had been made for the purchase <br /> of a public address system and projector , indicating the desirability of having <br /> such equipment , but also questioning whether or not the particular projector was <br /> one which the city ought to buy . It was finally decided to leave the whole <br /> matter in the hands of the City Manager and Mr. Morton to work it out for the <br /> best interests of the city . <br /> The City Manager proposed that the salary being paid to Mr . M. Counihan who works at <br /> the garbage dump be changed to $30 a month , effective April 1 . It was so ordered <br /> on motion of Councilman Fletcher , seconded by Councilman Eva. <br /> E . T . Tiernan of 1216 Roosevelt Avenue asked the Council to grant him a substantial <br /> adjustment in a water bill which , through an excessive leak , had accumulated to <br /> over $60 . It was explained that the City Manager had already suggested the <br /> customary adjustment in such cases by cutting the bill in two and offering to <br /> settle for $30 . On motion of Councilman Eva , seconded by Councilman Fletcher , <br /> it was suggested that a compromise figure of $25 be agreed upon , but the motion <br /> was lost . <br /> After further discussion , on motion of Councilman Hohn , seconded by Councilman <br /> Fletcher , it was decided to reconsider this water bill adjustment , which motion <br /> carried with Councilman Jones and McNulty voting "No" . <br /> Following this , Councilman Hohn , seconded by Councilman Eva, proposed a compromise <br /> figure of $20 in settlement of this water bill , which motion carried with Council- <br /> man Jones and McNulty voting "No " . <br /> The approved claims were ordered paid on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by <br /> Councilman Fletcher. <br /> Adjournment . <br /> ek■ �o c ' <br /> City Clerk <br /> BEM :HAS <br />
