Unanimously carried. <br /> On motion of Councilman Christensen , seconded by Councilman McNulty , there was intro- <br /> duced an ordinance dividing the City of Redwood City into election precincts and <br /> establishing the boundaries thereof . <br /> J . W. Leslie , for several other signers , submitted a petition to have electric lights <br /> installed on Opal Avenue between Brewster and Hopkins Avenue and also at the <br /> intersection of Hopkins and Opal Avenue . The matter was referred to the City <br /> Manager. <br /> A letter from the Manager of the Hotel Empire , San Francisco , made application for <br /> permission to erect a sign on the S . H . Frank Tanning Company property along the <br /> Bayshore Highway , which letter was referred to the City Manager . <br /> In a letter to the City Council the City Tax Collector asked authorization to accept <br /> $306 . 55 instead of $3 +6. 55 actually due for delinquent taxes , bond assessments , <br /> etc . , on Lots 11 and 12 , Block 51 , Eastern Addition. On motion of Councilman <br /> Christensen , seconded by Council man Fletcher , she was authorized as requested. <br /> E . R. Archibald addressed the Council concerning the hazards at the Five Points inter- <br /> section, especially mentioning the right hand turn from the highway going north <br /> into Main Street or Spruce Street . The matter was referred to the City Manager. <br /> The City Attorney made a short report concerning the P . G. & E . franchise situation <br /> and indicated that he would have something definite by the next meeting . <br /> The City Manager reported concerning the special rates offered by the San Francisco <br /> Water Department and the intimation that the department would like to have the <br /> City buy sufficient water under the new rates to equal in dollars and cents <br /> the amount bought last year under the old rate . The Council indicated the <br /> opinion that perhaps it would be a good idea to do as suggested by the San <br /> Francisco Water Department . <br /> Louis Zeitman , one of the merchants in the lower Broadway block , spoke to the Council <br /> concerning the Perry Street parking lot . He mentioned particularly the difficulty <br /> of getting all the merchants interested to contribute toward the $50 a month rent <br /> required by the owners of the lot . It was finally decided , on motion of Council- <br /> man Fletcher , seconded by Councilman McNulty , to guarantee the payment of one <br /> month ' s rent up to January 17 , 193& , and determine further action thereafter , <br /> with a committee composed of Councilman Fletcher , McNulty , and Jones to investigate <br /> the situation and make a recommendation. <br /> On motion of Councilman Christensen , seconded by Councilman McNulty , and carried , the <br /> Treasurer was authorized to draw a warrant in favor of the San Mateo County Title <br /> Company in the sum of $ 6 , 750 and deliver the same thereto ; said $6 , 750 to be <br />
