Councilman Anderson , seconded by Councilman Fletcher , proposed the adoption of the following resolution. Carried. "RESOLVED , by the Council of the City of Redwood City , that in conformity with Chapter 397 of the Statutes of 1931 of the State of California, with amend- ments thereto and other laws , that the minimum compensation to be paid for any skilled or unskilled labor ftlasisi for work to be performed in the improvement of Nevada Street .under Resolution of Intention No . 1938-4 , passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City on the 18th day of July , 1938 , and in the improvement of Quartz Street and Ave- nue del Ora. under Resolution of Intention No . 1938-5 , passed. and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City on the 8th day of August , 1938 , both of which Resolutions of Intention are now on file in- the office of the City Clerk of the City of Redwood City and to which reference is hereby made and the same are made a part hereof, shall be not less than specified as follows : Trade or Occupation Per Diem Wage Hourly. Wage Rate Carpenter Cement Finisher Engineers (Roller) Laborers Laborers , concrete Mixer Operators Truck Drivers , 2 yards or less 3 yards yards Tractor Drivers , Up to 35 H . P. Over 35 H. The hourly wage rate prescribed here- inabove is the per diem rate divided by the aforementioned number of hours constituting a working day . The above schedule of wage rates is the general prevailing rate of per diem wages for work of a similar character in the locality in which the work described above is to be performed. Rates for legal holidays and Sundays shall be double the rate hereinabove described. Rates for over-time shall be one and one-half ( 1*) times the rates here- inabove described . " On motion of Councilman Fletcher , seconded by Councilman Anderson , Sante Panga, 2303 El Camino Real Real , was granted a restaurant license . Mr. I . J . Cooper of the Peninsula Title Guaranty Co . addressed the Council concerning participation in the work of clearing up the 1915 Act delinquent lots and was assured that his organization would be remembered when further title searches were necessary . 41 'I
