improvements , could appear before said Council and show cause why said proposed
<br /> work and improvements should not be carried out in accordance with said Resolu-
<br /> tion of. Intention No . 1938-5 , or why said work and improvements should not be
<br /> carried out and done at the grades as shown on the plans , profiles , detailed
<br /> drawings and specifications referred to in said Resolution of Intention No .
<br /> 1938-5 and now on file in the office of the Clerk of the City of Redwood City;
<br /> and
<br /> WHEREAS , at the day, hour and place aforesaid , when and where any and all
<br /> persons having any objections to said work and improvements described in said
<br /> Resolution of Intention No . 1938-5 , or having any objections to the proposed
<br /> grades at which said work and improvements are to be done and made , or having
<br /> any objections to the proposed district to be assessed for said work and im-
<br /> provements , could appear before the Council of said City of Redwood City and
<br /> show cause why said work and improvements should not be carried out in accord-
<br /> ance with Resolution of Intention No . 1938-5 , or why said proposed work and
<br /> improvements should not be carried out and done at the proposed grades as shown
<br /> on the plans , profiles , detailed drawings and specifications referred to in
<br /> said Resolution of Intention No . 1938-5 and now on file in the office of the
<br /> Clerk of said City of Redwood City, or why said work and improvements should
<br /> not be assessed against the district described in said Resolution of Intention
<br /> No . 1938-5 , by map referred to therein, which map was approved by the Council
<br /> of the City of. Redwood City on the 8th day of August , 1938 , certain persons
<br /> appeared and made written objections to said work and improvements described
<br /> in said Resolution of Intention No . 1938-5 ; and
<br /> WHEREAS , said Council did proceed to hear and pass upon said written pro-
<br /> tests and did resolve and determine that said protests were not made by the
<br /> owners of one-half of the area of the property to be assessed for said work
<br /> and improvements and said Council did overrule each and all of said protests
<br /> and said Council having acquired jurisdiction to order said work and improve-
<br /> ments :
<br /> THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the public interest and convenience require
<br /> the work and improvements herein described , and the Council of the City of
<br /> Redwood City hereby orders the following work to be done and improvements to
<br /> be made in said City of Redwood City, to wit :
<br /> That Quartz Street from the end
<br /> of the existing cement concrete
<br /> .pavement near the northerly line of
<br /> St. Francis Avenue to Avenue del
<br /> Ora, including the intersection of
<br /> Quartz Street and Avenue del Ora;
<br /> and Avenue del Ora from the end
<br /> of the existing cement concrete
<br /> pavement near the production
<br /> northerly of the westerly Iine of
<br /> South Place across said Avenue del
<br /> Ora to the existing cement concrete
<br /> pavement near the southeasterly
<br /> line of James Avenue including the
<br /> intersection of Avenue del On and
<br /> Quartz Street, be improved as fol-
<br /> lows, to-wit:
<br /> That the Street and Avenue here-
<br /> inbefore mentioned and intersec-
<br /> tions thereof be graded for their
<br /> full width and for the lengths men-
<br /> tioned herein and described, and by
<br /> having constructed on both sides
<br /> of said Street and Avenue and
<br /> around the park within the inter-
<br /> section of said Quartz Street and
<br /> Avenue del Ora, combined cement
<br /> concrete curbs and gutters, and
<br /> by constructing between said com-
<br /> bined curbs and gutters a four
<br /> (4") inch stabilized slurry base
<br /> pavement with a one (1") inch as-
<br /> phaltic armor coat wearing sur-
<br /> face.

<br /> Quartz Street and Avenue del Ora
<br /> hereinbefore mentioned, and the
<br /> width of the roadway thereof and
<br /> the width of the sidewalks thereof

<br /> to the plans , profiles , detailed drawings and specifications posted or on
<br /> file for the period required by law in the Redwood City Tribune, a daily
