Following the suggestion of C . E . Platt , City Auditor , on motion of Councilman McCarthy , seconded by Councilman Hildebrant , the treasurer was instructed to write the First National Bank to make adjustment in the bonds deposited with the City . The City Manager filed with the Clerk a written communication outlining the situation existing be- tween him and the City of San Carlos relating to the hiring of the City ' s Poundman and con- siderable discussion ensued , following which Councilman McCarthy , seconded by Councilman Lambert , moved that the City enter into an arrangement with the City of San Carlos for a period of three months on a basis of two half days a month for $10 . 00 a month , with extra calls paid at the rate of $2 . 00 per trip , and that the Mayor appoint one councilman to take up the matter with the San Carlos Council . Motion carried and Mayor Dusel appointed Councilman Lambert for this purpose . The Clerk read a letter from the Blindcraft Organization calling attention to the restrictions against solicitation of " salvage" in Redwood City and the desirability of helping the blind . On motion of Councilman McCarthy , seconded by Councilman Jones , it was decided to make an ex- ception in favor of the Blindcraft Organization and allow them to solicit what they called " salvage" with the understanding that no requests be made for money . The City Attorney submitted an ordinance for the regulation of the sale of beer which was formally introduced on motion of Councilman McCarthy , seconded by Councilman Hildebrant . The Livermore Rodeo , in a letter to the City Attorney , asked permission to have erected a banner advertising the rodeo for May 13 and l4 and permission was granted on motion of Councilman Hildebrant , seconded by Councilman McNulty , with the understanding that the Building Inspector supervise the erection of the banner. Mayor Dusel read a resolution which had been adopted by the Northern California Fire Chiefs ' Club referring particularly to the installation of automatic sprinkler systems and automatic fire alarm systems . On motion of Councilman Lambert , seconded by Councilman McCarthy , the resolution was referred to Fire Chief Ryan. Discussion was had concerning the details of taking over the Emerald Lake Water Company and after O explanation on the part of the City Manager and City Engineer , Councilman McCarthy , seconded by Councilman Hildebrant , offered the following resolution in which the City agrees to accept ;11: the Emerald Lake eater Company properties subject to the approval of the Railroad Commission and to continue to serve that district . RESOLVED THAT WHEREAS the City of Redwood City and the Emerald Lake Company , a corporation , have entered into negotiations for the purpose of the City of Redwood City taking over and acquiring all of the properties of the Emerald Lake mater. Company , a cor- , poration , now supplying water to certain territory in the vicinity of Emerald Lake and adjacent to the City of Redwood City , and , WHEREAS , as a result of said negotiations the City of Redwood City has agreed to take over all of the properties of said water company .
