The renuest was referred to the Health Officer to <br /> ascertain more definitely what was desired and especially the amount of money requested . <br /> The Redwood City Woman ' s Club in a communication from its Secretary , Mrs . H. A. Clattenburg , <br /> asked information about the removal of the Mission Bell from the intersection of El <br /> Camino Real and Broadway . This matter was referred to the City Manager and Attorney <br /> with the idea that probably the bell would be reinstalled at some place along the highway. <br /> W. E. Cashman , Attorney at San Francisco , asked concerning the letter of the City Clerk <br /> denying the Salvation Army the right to make solicitations in Redwood City and asking <br /> for a copy of the motion . Councilman McCarthy said he would see Mr . Cashman personally <br /> and explain the situation and the Clerk was instructed to send him a copy of the motion <br /> and also to explain that it was the desire of the Council to have clothing, etc . given <br /> to the local people rather than to be taken out of town . <br /> E . T . Harrison , Cashier of the First National Bank, through a letter to the City Treasurer , <br /> asked information about the bonds put up by the First National Bank with the City <br /> Treasurer as a deposit against the City funds , specifically referring to Redwood City <br /> Improvement Bonds held by the City Treasurer . The matter was referred to the City <br /> Attorney to confer with Mr . Harrison and clear no the matter . <br /> Alcoholic Beverage Ordinance No . 343 came up for final adoption at this time and after filing <br /> affidavit of publication , the ordinance was adopted on motion of Councilman McCarthy , <br /> seconded by Councilman McNulty . It was finally decided , on motion of Councilman <br /> Lambert , seconded by Councilman McCarthy , to make a temporary rate of $20. 00 a year , to <br /> remain operative until further order of the Council . In connection with the applications <br /> for alcoholic beverage licenses , on motion of Councilman McCarthy , seconded by Councilman <br /> Hildebrant , the Mayor was instructed to appoint a committee of two councilmen to act with <br /> the Chief of Police in examining and reporting back on applications .
