U Councilman Hildebrant asked whether or not the Southern Pacific Company could be persuaded to clear up some of the high weeds on its property along the highway , and the City Clerk was instructed to write the company to that effect . On motion of Councilman McNulty , seconded by Councilman McCarthy , the City Attorney was granted permis- sion to leave the state . The approved claims were ordered paid on motion of Councilman McNulty , seconded by Councilman Hildebrant . Adjournment . (11 City Clerk BEM : MR MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL JANUARY 16 , 1933 8 : 00 P . M . Upon roll call , the following Councilmen were present : Mayor W . J . Dusel , H . A. Beeger , R . N . Jones , C . J . Hildebrant , C . G. Lambert , Paul A. McCarthy , Geo . W . McNulty . City Clerk , B . E . Myers . Absent : None . Minutes of January 3 were approved on motion of Councilman Lambert , seconded by Councilman McNulty . G. p . Casaretto appeared before the Council and asked when it would be possible for him to receive his share of the money to be paid out of the Hudson Street fund. The City Attorney explained that it was necessary to get an extra signature to some deeds but that he thought the matter could be cleared up promptly . Mr . Alec Clark , of Hare , Brewer & Clark appeared before the Council to ask for a permit to erect a service station in the name of General Properties , Inc . , at the corner of Hamilton and Theatre Streets . After the Council had been told by the Building Inspector that everything was in order , and the City Clerk stated that the Planning Commission had approved the project , the permit as requested was given , on motion of Councilman Lambert , seconded by Councilman Hildebrant . Mr . R. I . Shields representing the Veteran Organizations of Redwood City appeared before the Council to ask assistance in connection with the new building projects at Mezes Hall , requesting specifically that the City undertake to build a sidewalk and roadway from Standish Street to entrance . On motion of Councilman Lambert , seconded by Councilman McNulty , the City Manager was instructed to proceed with the construction , with the understanding that the estimated cost would be $150. 00 . The request from the League of Municipalities for $50 . 00 to assist in certain legislation was laid over until the next meeting. The question of more insurance on the contents of the City Hall and the amount of insurance that should be placed on the Fire House was brought up for discussion and the matter was referred to the City Manager to investigate with the assistance of the City Attorney . Councilman Jones asked if part of the money remaining in the Hudson Street Bridge fund might not be used for rocking part of Hudson Street from Jefferson Avenue to Madison Avenue and from Vera Avenue to Roosevelt Avenue to make it available in wet weather .
