42 Councilman Lambert , seconded by Councilman Jones , submitted and proposed the adoption of resolution fixing the tax rate for the City of Redwood City for the fiscal year 1933-34. Unanimously adopted. Affidavit of the Redwood City Tribune concerning the publication of notice of filing amended street assessment and of time fixed for hearing was received and ordered filed . On motion of Councilman Lambert , seconded by Councilman Hildebrant , the amended assessment , as submitted by the City Engineer , was confirmed . The Attorney stated no resolution was necessary. The City Clerk read the report of the special auditor , C. G. Uhlenberg. One phase , that per- taining to the handling of capital outlay , brought forth some discussion and the matter was finally , on motion of Councilman Lambert , seconded by Councilman McNulty , referred to the City Manager and the City Engineer to report back at the next meeting with their recom- mendations as to the proper method to be followed. On motion of Councilman Beeger , seconded by Councilman Lambert , the application of Roy and Beatrice Herndon for an "on-sale" beverage license to be used at 2604 Broadway was granted . The City Attorney suggested that in certain parts of the city dead-end streets might be a menace to automobile traffic and that reflector signs should be placed at some of these points . Councilman Beeger agreed with him and finally, on motion of Councilman Beeger , seconded by Councilman Hildebrant , the City Manager and Engineer were asked to investigate the con- ditions . The request of the Y .M . C .A. Committee for a donation was laid over to be brought up at the next meeting. Mention was made that some of the students of the High School were not only passing the time on the circular park at the corner of Broadway and Brewster , but were also littering up that park and parts of Broadway with paper wrappings from lunches and from purchases of food in the nearby stores and the City Clerk was asked to trite to the Principal of the High School to ask if something could be done about it . Reference was made to the need of electric lights on East Brewster Street approaching the Bay- shore Highway and also out near the corner of Katherine and Grand Streets . The matter was referred to the Electrician for his recommendation. The approved claims were ordered paid on motion of Councilman McNulty , seconded by Councilman Hildebrant . Adjournment . i . & .
