42 <br /> Councilman Lambert , seconded by Councilman Jones , submitted and proposed the adoption of <br /> resolution fixing the tax rate for the City of Redwood City for the fiscal year 1933-34. <br /> Unanimously adopted. <br /> Affidavit of the Redwood City Tribune concerning the publication of notice of filing amended <br /> street assessment and of time fixed for hearing was received and ordered filed . On <br /> motion of Councilman Lambert , seconded by Councilman Hildebrant , the amended assessment , <br /> as submitted by the City Engineer , was confirmed . The Attorney stated no resolution was <br /> necessary. <br /> The City Clerk read the report of the special auditor , C. G. Uhlenberg. One phase , that per- <br /> taining to the handling of capital outlay , brought forth some discussion and the matter <br /> was finally , on motion of Councilman Lambert , seconded by Councilman McNulty , referred to <br /> the City Manager and the City Engineer to report back at the next meeting with their recom- <br /> mendations as to the proper method to be followed. <br /> On motion of Councilman Beeger , seconded by Councilman Lambert , the application of Roy and <br /> Beatrice Herndon for an "on-sale" beverage license to be used at 2604 Broadway was granted . <br /> The City Attorney suggested that in certain parts of the city dead-end streets might be a menace <br /> to automobile traffic and that reflector signs should be placed at some of these points . <br /> Councilman Beeger agreed with him and finally, on motion of Councilman Beeger , seconded by <br /> Councilman Hildebrant , the City Manager and Engineer were asked to investigate the con- <br /> ditions . <br /> The request of the Y .M . C .A. Committee for a donation was laid over to be brought up at the next <br /> meeting. <br /> Mention was made that some of the students of the High School were not only passing the time on <br /> the circular park at the corner of Broadway and Brewster , but were also littering up that <br /> park and parts of Broadway with paper wrappings from lunches and from purchases of food in <br /> the nearby stores and the City Clerk was asked to trite to the Principal of the High School <br /> to ask if something could be done about it . <br /> Reference was made to the need of electric lights on East Brewster Street approaching the Bay- <br /> shore Highway and also out near the corner of Katherine and Grand Streets . The matter was <br /> referred to the Electrician for his recommendation. <br /> The approved claims were ordered paid on motion of Councilman McNulty , seconded by Councilman <br /> Hildebrant . <br /> Adjournment . <br /> i . & .
