ATTY/RESO.0087/CC RESO APPROVING STREET CLOSURE FOR SEQUOIA STAMPEDE 5K FUNDRAISER <br />REV: 09-01-16 JS <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />RESOLUTION NO.______ <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY APPROVING THE TEMPORARY STREET CLOSURES FOR THE <br />SEQUOIA HIGH SCHOOL BOOSTER CLUB’S SEQUOIA STAMPEDE 5K <br />RUN/WALK FUNDRAISER <br /> <br /> <br />WHEREAS, because of the impact that special events have on City streets and <br />traffic when a full or partial street closure is required for such a special event, the City <br />Council of the City of Redwood City finds that it is crucial that any such routes be <br />thoroughly reviewed and analyzed to enable careful planning of such special events in <br />order to minimize impacts to the general public where such street closures are permitted; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, after thorough review, analysis, and planning the City Council does <br />hereby establish the following necessary partial street closures for the Sequoia High <br />School Booster Club’s Sequoia Stampede 5K Run/Walk fundraiser. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. On Saturday, September 24th, 2016, Elwood Street, Katherine Avenue, <br />Nevada Street, Outer Circle, Brewster Avenue, Topaz Street, and James Avenue, will be <br />subject to temporary partial closures between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. in order to allow <br />the Sequoia High School Booster Club’s Sequoia Stampede 5K Run/Walk fundraiser <br />event to occur. <br /> <br />* * * <br />6.3.D. - Page 20
